De Jong wants to control but Kraig postures up. De Jong regains half guard. De Jong is trying to maintain the position but Kraig is very close to passing his half guard. Kraig scoring with strikes to the body and head. De Jong regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Kraig. Kraig postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kraig is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Kraig engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Kraig working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. #T1# Kraig with a flurry of punches that miss. #R1##TD# Kraig closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kraig working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Kraig lands strikes from half guard. Kraig looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Richards with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ground and pound from Kraig. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kraig lands a nice short elbow. Kraig looks to score some points with some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB# Richards makes his way to full guard, as Kraig worked for a kimura.
Kraig knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Richards on the ground. Kraig cracks Richards with a solid left hand. Kraig trying to control the position from guard on top but Richards is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kraig throws a big elbow that misses. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Adefemi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Adefemi throws an uppercut from half a mile away.
