#R1# Hanma walks forward, straight into a front kick from Point. Hanma throws a body shot but no joy. Point misses with a body kick. Hanma shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Point as he avoids it easily. Hanma looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Kane Point seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hanma throws a body shot but no joy. Hanma takes a body punch but keeps moving. Point works Hanma's body with a nice hook. A slapping body kick lands there for Point. Point goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Hanma swings for the body but Point moves out of range.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hanma crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Point - the referee stops the clock and Hanma gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Point. Hanma manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Point bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hanma's head. Hanma throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's going to take a lot out of him. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Point fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hanma manages to avoid it. Point sizes up Hanma with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Hanma lands with a shot to the body. Hanma sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. A looping hook to the body misses from Hanma. Point does a little dance to reset his feet. Point defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hanma. A countering left hand to the body from Point misses. Point is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hanma had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Point scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hanma in his tracks. Point tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hanma was well out of range. Poor timing from Point. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Samuel is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Sparr throwing strikes from guard but Samuel blocks nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Samuel wants to get back to his feet but Sparr is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sparr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Samuel swivels though and keeps the full guard. Samuel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sparr is one step ahead there. #T1# A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Samuel holds on and takes a little breather.
