Jefferson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.#CUT#It looks like Rover Satoshi has been cut. Jefferson steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Satoshi. That one must have hurt. Satoshi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jefferson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Jefferson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Satoshi. Satoshi throws a fast counter high kick but Jefferson manages to duck under it in time. Jefferson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Darwin has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. That's going to sap some energy. Junior bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Stark misses with a takedown attempt #TD2# and Junior counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Morello Stark. That's going to take a lot out of him. Junior is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Junior landing some decent shots from guard. Junior slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Stark might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stark looking to control.

Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
