We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hanson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Akutagawa lands with a hook. Hanson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. A low kick from Akutagawa misses #TD2# and Hanson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Akutagawa blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hanson. #SUB2# Hanson is working for a submission of some sort.

Hanson tries to get to his feet but Akutagawa is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Hanson is in need of a savior and steps in!

Reaper swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Reaper stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Reaper wants it to stay on the feet. Choke with a poor takedown and Reaper counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Choke. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reaper throws a lazy right hand but Choke sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Choke attempts a counter takedown but Reaper avoids it well and moves away. Choke tries to close the distance and clinch but Reaper swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Reaper lands with an overhand left. Choke looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.#T1# Reaper misses with an uppercut. Choke drops down looking for a counter takedown but Reaper sprawls and moves away. Choke misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Reaper lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Choke at a distance.

Zimmerman has a takedown stuffed. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Davis! But no joy. Zimmerman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Davis sprawls well. Davis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Zimmerman gets slowly back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zimmerman tries for a takedown but Davis circles away easily and Davis counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Moritz Zimmerman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zimmerman closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. #CUT2#It looks like Moritz Zimmerman has been cut.#T1# Zimmerman defending well as Davis loads up on a big left hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SUB# Carlsson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Curtis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carlsson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#SUB# Carlsson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. #SUB# Carlsson has hold of Curtis's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Curtis tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Carlsson cranks the arm and Curtis screams in pain! It looked like Bagwell wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Nice sprawl there from Bagwell as Kraft shoots in. Bagwell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
