But no joy. A combination from Fjera does no damage. Rutten looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Nice shot by Fjera. Nice straight punches there by Fjera. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Fjera. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fjera thuds his right hand into Rutten's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Rutten steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Fjera. Fjera fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rutten manages to avoid it.#T1# Good exchange - Fjera coming out on top. Nick Fjera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fjera is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Rutten looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Rutten tries to land a front kick but Fjera steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Fjera is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. McGobblecock, Jr. tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Batty manages to circle out of the way. McGobblecock, Jr. connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. McGobblecock, Jr. throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Batty misses with a body punch
#KD# and McGobblecock, Jr. counters with a crisp right hand that drops Batty! McGobblecock, Jr. lets Batty back up to his feet, looking for a finish!#ROC# Batty is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McGobblecock, Jr. lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Batty at a distance.
Batty is still on wobbly legs! Can McGobblecock, Jr. finish him? McGobblecock, Jr. is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Batty flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Batty is out cold! McGobblecock, Jr. holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bixby trying to control but Lafitte is working from the bottom. Lafitte seems keen to control Bixby's posture.
