Ragardo catches Cornell right on the button with a cross.#TD2# Ragardo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Ragardo wants to get back to his feet.
Cornell moves into full guard.
Ragardo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. #SUB# Cornell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ragardo defends it easily. Ragardo wants to get up but he can't break Cornell's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Ragardo is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.#SU2# Ragardo stands and steps away. Rob uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Matthews. Matthews scores with a jab to the body. Matthews throws a body shot but no joy. No luck with that takedown attempt from Rob. Jackson Matthews has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Black Rob.#TD2# Rob is looking for a takedown here. Black Rob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rob goes for a double leg but Matthews avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Matthews continues to drive forward. Rob rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Matthews moves out of range and avoids them all easily. It looked like Matthews was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Rob. Rob with a lazy takedown attempt and Matthews counters with a lovely shot to the body. Rob throws a front kick aimed at Matthews's knee but Matthews avoids it well. A quick step to the side and Matthews tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.#T2# Rob looks to land a left hand but Matthews moved out of range nicely. Rob misses with a takedown attempt and Matthews makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Rob throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Matthews's waist but Matthews gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rob off to one side. Matthews ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rob moves away. Messie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Messie wants it to stay on the feet. Messie looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Lazarvic throws the left hand but Messie avoids the punch easily. Lazarvic defending well as Messie loads up on a big left hand. Messie lands a jab to Lazarvic's midsection. Lazarvic ducks right into an uppercut from Messie. Nice body punch from Messie. Horrible takedown attempt by Lazarvic or perhaps it was just good defense by Messie, which made it look bad. Lazarvic with a poor takedown and Messie counters with a nice body shot. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Etienne Lazarvic. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lazarvic doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Messie stuffs the takedown. Lazarvic is breathing heavily. Messie lands a jab. This has been an exciting period of action! Give Up tries to kick Rembrandt off but Rembrandt keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Rembrandt working the head and body with strikes. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. #ROC# Give Up is rocked! Rembrandt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Buu looking to sit in guard and control but MacAndrew gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR# MacAndrew controlling from the top position. MacAndrew's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buu seems keen to control MacAndrew's posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T1# Buu is trying to control the position but MacAndrew postures up.
