Harmbe is fighting to maintain full guard but Carter has managed to sneak the leg through. Carter is looking to take a break and control but Harmbe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Carter missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Carter sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Harmbe defending well though. Carter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Harmbe's head. Carter drops an elbow to the side of Harmbe's head. Carter missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harmbe wants to improve his position but Carter is controlling well.

Carter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Harmbe tries to avoid it but Carter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Harmbe to the ground. Harmbe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. #TD2# Carter scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Harmbe gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Carter prevents Harmbe from getting the reversal. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carter working the ground and pound effectively.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hammerfist, elbow! yells Carter's corner. There ya go! There ya go! John Carter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Carter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Demaestri has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.#TD2# Demaestri scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Wood is looking to escape. Wood trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Hernandez lands a right hook to the body.
Kaki throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kaki ducks right into an uppercut from Hernandez. #CUT2# It looks like Kannissa Kaki has been cut. A lazy left from Hernandez finds it's target. Hernandez cracks Kaki with a right hand to the side of the head. We've been hearing reports that Kaki has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Kaki ducks under a wild hook from Hernandez. Hernandez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kaki counters with a series of strikes. Hernandez will be more careful next time no doubt. This has been an exciting period of action! Hernandez avoids a kick to the body.
Kaki throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kaki throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hernandez counters with a nice uppercut. A punch lands to the side of Kaki 's head but he takes it in his stride.#ROC2# Kaki is rocked! Kaki takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Oh Kaki is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hernandez lands with a right that hurts Kaki. Kaki looks to clinch but Hernandez throws a short knee that drops Kaki. This one is all over!

#R1# Demaestri fails with the takedown and Demaestri takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Demaestri fails with the takedown. A head kick misses from Schweidler. Demaestri fails with a takedown attempt. Rene Schweidler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julian Eduardo Demaestri. Schweidler wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.#KD# Schweidler lands a big head kick that sends Demaestri tumbling to the mat! Schweidler takes a step backwards and waves Demaestri back to his feet - he wants the finish! We've been told by Schweidler's head coaches at Fight Hard that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Demaestri gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Schweidler points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Demaestri wakes up just in time to hear Schweidler thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

De La Cruzeiro should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. De La Cruzeiro works a leg free and moves into half guard. De La Cruzeiro controlling the pace. De La Cruzeiro tries to stand but his arm is trapped. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. De La Cruzeiro performing his best blanket impression for a moment. #T1# Jimenez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of De La Cruzeiro 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take De La Cruzeiro 's back! Jimenez doesn't have the hooks in and De La Cruzeiro manages to turn into his guard.
