#R1# Farterson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ray defends well and Farterson ends up having to push Ray into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Ray displaying some good clinch control by pressing Farterson up against the cage. Farterson content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Ray just leaning against Farterson, taking a breather. Ray leaning his opponent against the cage. Ray using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Farterson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#BC2# Ray's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Farterson takes one on the button. Farterson dives in and grabs Ray's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ray pushes down on Farterson's head and hops out. Freaky Ray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Farterson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.#T1# Ray scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Farterson connects with a leg kick. Farterson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Farterson ducks right into an uppercut from Ray. Farterson tries to close the distance and clinch but Ray swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Farterson ducks right into an uppercut from Ray. Farterson moves forwards but Ray connects with a nice, crisp jab. Ray throws out a powerful jab. Farterson on the wrong end of a nice jab. This has been an exciting period of action! Ray connects with a right hand. Farterson shakes it off. Farterson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Farterson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ray sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Farterson somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lump Farterson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ray fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Farterson on the side of the head.#T2# Ray cracks Farterson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Ray might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Ray stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Farterson is looking to clinch but Ray is avoiding it.
Farterson on the wrong end of a nice jab. Ray is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Ray lands with an uppercut that bounces Farterson off the cage and back into range. Farterson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Ray cracks Farterson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Ray is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Farterson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Farterson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Farterson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ray is fending him off so far but Farterson persists. Nope, Ray circles away and we're back to standing. Nice takedown defense from Ray. No joy for Farterson on that attempt. Farterson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ray lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Farterson works over Ray's head and body with a nice combination. Ray lands a head shot.#T3# Ray clobbers Farterson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Ray is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Farterson walks into a jab. Farterson looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Ray lands a really nice looking cross but Farterson seems unphased.
Freaky Ray is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice jab there from Ray. Farterson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ray connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Farterson scrambles back to his feet. Ray cracks Farterson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Ray's corner calls for a 1-2. Ray obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Ray connects with a good right hand that stumbles Farterson. Farterson circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Farterson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ray scores with a decent looking hook. Farterson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ray. Farterson tries for a takedown but Ray sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Ray connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Ray is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Ray scores with a nice right hand.
#T4# Ray scores with a punch to the head. Farterson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ray defends it nicely. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ray! But no joy. Farterson is breathing heavily. Ray throws out a powerful jab. Ray connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Farterson's hands. Farterson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Farterson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Farterson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Ray connects with the punch. Farterson tries to clinch up and Ray counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ray sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Farterson walks into a left hand. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nice defenses there by Farterson. Farterson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Farterson tries to close the distance and clinch but Ray swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Farterson tries to move into range but Ray moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Lump Farterson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Farterson moves away from the strike by Ray. The fighters circling - Ray throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Horrible takedown attempt by Farterson or perhaps it was just good defense by Ray, which made it look bad. Ray looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Farterson throws a series of punches but Ray avoids them all with ease. Nice uppercut there from Ray. Ray works the jab nicely. Farterson takes one to the chin there. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Farterson. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Farterson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Ray throws a hook but Farterson avoids it easily. Farterson is looking to clinch. Farterson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ray keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Ray lands with a right hand. Ray sizes up Farterson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Farterson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. A jab lands there for Ray. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Good shot there by Ray. Farterson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ray lands with a hook. Farterson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Freaky Ray showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Farterson shoots in looking for a takedown but Ray manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Farterson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Ray takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Ray bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Farterson's head backwards. Farterson loads up on a big right hand but Ray slips the punch. Farterson needs to keep his hands up - Ray had a free shot at his head there. Farterson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Ray lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ray lands the left hand.#T1# Farterson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ray manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Ray chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Farterson can pounce on him.
#CL# Farterson closes the distance and pushes Ray back into the cage. Farterson jumps guard but Ray stands there with Farterson around his waist. Farterson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ray is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Farterson tries to break free but Ray pushes him back against the cage. Farterson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ray crunches a lovely knee into Farterson's ribcage. Ray just leaning against Farterson, taking a breather. Farterson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ray pulls him back up using the underhooks. Ray wants to get back to striking at distance but Farterson won't allow it.

Farterson has Ray pressed against the cage, preventing Ray from circling away and getting back to striking at range.#BC# Farterson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Farterson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ray finds it's way round the side to connect with Farterson's head. Ray scores with a nice strike. Farterson tries to clinch there but Ray circles away.
#T4# Decent striking displayed by Ray there. Farterson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ray to score with a decent uppercut. Ray getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Jab by Ray. Ray connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Farterson momentarily.
A punch lands to the side of Farterson 's head but he takes it in his stride. Ray works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Good standup being displayed there by Ray as he connects with a hook. Ray slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Farterson walks into a stiff left hand from Ray. Nice cross by Ray. Farterson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Lump Farterson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ray leaves Farterson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Freaky Ray comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ray has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
