#R1##KD# Stek lands a big right hand that sends Smash crashing to the mat! Stek stays standing though and waves Smash back to his feet!#TD2# Smash looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smash is thwarting Stek's attempts to control the position. Stek on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Smash stalling. Stek trying to hold on to Smash's head to control him but Smash postures up.
Stek is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Smash working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Smash lands a nice short elbow. Smash passes to side control. Smash scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Stek to see if he's OK. Smash has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.#T1# Stek pushes Smash away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Smash gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Smash cracks Stek with a big right hand but Stek just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Smash works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Smash controls the position.#SUB2# Smash tries for a kimura but Stek is defending well. You can see the frustration on Stek's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Smash scoring with punches from side control. Smash working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Stek takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Smash happy to just control the position for now. Smash working the head and body with strikes. #T2# Stek takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stek is working to avoid the ground and pound but Smash connects with a decent elbow. #SUB2# Smash is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Stek looks calm but he's in trouble here. Smash gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Stek is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Smash lets go of the hold and Stek can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hulk Smash! In his post fight interview, Hulk Smash started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

Peters was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Peters darts in looking for a takedown but Sardine gets double underhooks and turns Peters into the cage. #TD2# Sardine drives through with a takedown into guard. Peters thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Peters pulls Sardine in close to his closed guard and prevents Sardine from doing any damage or advancing position. Peters has a closed guard, preventing Sardine from standing up. Peters really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Peters is pulling down on Sardine's head. It's preventing any offense from Sardine, at least for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sardine stopping the sweep attempt from Peters.#T1# Peters keeping full guard, as Sardine tries to pass. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Sardine showing good wrestling skills to control the position. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Diego Sardine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! #R1##TD2# Cozube shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cozube showed some decent athleticism there. Cozube wants to control but Poussee is keeping him busy. Poussee wants to improve his position but Cozube is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Poussee slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Poussee is adopting a defensive guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Poussee continues to stall.#T1# More hug and hope from Poussee. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Poussee keeping full guard, as Cozube tries to pass. Poussee is working the butterfly guard. Cozube is in a horrible position here. Poussee smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

#R1# Bugatti misses with a straight left. Piacha lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Piacha throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Piacha will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Piacha throws a wild body kick that Bugatti sees coming a mile off. Piacha looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
#CL2# Piacha gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Bugatti is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Piacha takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Bugatti looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Piacha drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bugatti pulls his leg out and moves away.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bugatti steps in with a hook that catches Piacha right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Bugatti follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Piacha looks absolutely devastated.

Dillashaw throws a body punch but Ciz moves out of range. Underestimated Dillashaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dillashaw misses with an uppercut. Dillashaw fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Ciz throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dillashaw stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ciz swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Ciz tries to land a front kick but Dillashaw steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Dillashaw throws a big shot that misses. Ciz goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Ciz avoids the body shot from Dillashaw.
Ciz is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Dillashaw. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ciz ducks under a wild hook from Dillashaw. Ciz checks a low kick from Dillashaw. Dillashaw stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that George Ciz will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Dillashaw is looking to control Ciz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dillashaw avoid being mounted? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ciz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
