When asked about his recent loss to Matthews, young athlete Connor Pye had this to say:
"It's obviously a disappointment, a loss on début. Even though it went to decision, a loss was not on my agenda. I admit I played the game wrong and I would go about it differently if I fought again today. I'm sure I'll get a chance to take him on again. He's a tough fighter."
When Pye was asked about the future of his career, he replied:
"I'm keen to make a name for myself at Throwdown Fights. Off the back of the loss, I still think I earned a lot of respect. My management feels my next opponent should be Mark Green. He's the only one who makes sense. Hopefully a win over Green will get me a rematch with Matthews. Who knows? Maybe there's a title fight still lurking in my future." |
