The Hardcore Fighting Championships return to the Icebox in St. Petersburg, Russia on 6/24/17 with an absolutely loaded card featuring 2 Super Fights as well as 3 title fights. This is one amazing 10 fight card, and arguably the best one of the organization's history. No one should want to miss this event! First lets discuss our two Super Fights on the card. "Honey" Roy Palmer 18-3 Current Underground Heavyweight Champion vs. "Dirty" Randy Curran 13-3 Current HFC Heavyweight Champion. This is a dynamic Super fight between two top 50 pound for pound Heavyweights in the world. Palmer has won 9 straight fights where 17 of his 18 wins have come by way of TKO/KO. Palmer has won 6 fight of the nights and 3 KO of the night awards. Curran is on a current 8 fight win streak of his own, 12 of his 13 wins have also come by TKO/KO. He holds 2 fight of the night awards while training exclusively out of Montreal, Quebec Canada. Both fighters are in their prime at 27 years of age and look to hold nothing back in this spectacular fight. I dare not make a prediction on such a tough fight, how about I just say don't blink! Vinny "The Crow" Hopkins 32-19 the current CEC Featherweight Champion vs. HFC Two Divsion Champion Cristian Tavares 15-1 is the other Super Fight that has a lot of trash talking to help make this one of the most interesting fights in HFC history. Both fighters are ranked in the top 50 pound for pound in the world and claim to be the better fighter. Not only is this a Super Fight, Tavares put his HFC Lightweight Title on the line as well to make it more exciting. Vinny "The Crow" Hopkins is a former NCAA boxing champion as well as 3 X Gold Medalists in the Olympics, brings an extensive background resume including several championship fights. He is riding a 3 fight win streak with his last bout capturing the CEC Welterweight Title. He has won and lost most of his fights by decisions, but don't let that fool you. Hopkins possess a great boxing pedigree with great stand up skills. Experience goes to Hopkins, Youth goes to Tavares. Cristian Tavares originally from Guadalajara, Mexico trains in Los Angeles, California. Tavares is the current Featherweight and Lightweight Champion of the HFC, he is the first to have done it in the HFC. He is riding a 14 fight win streak in which he has defended his titles successfully. Tavares is young, but also was a Olympic Jr. Gold Medalist before abandoning that to go to the United States and begin his mma career. This fight could show how strong the old lion still is or how the young lion will take over and establish dominance. Prediction Tavares by Decision. Devon Bailey v Yes Man Sanchez for the HFC Light Heavyweight Title and Randy Poffo v Russell Northrop for the HFC Welterweight Title are two fights that could headline their own events, but this is what makes this event so special for the HFC. We last saw Devon Bailey in a loss vs. Pena Pulkkinen (Cut) on June 3 in a Super Fight with Underground, but Bailey still holds the HFC title and is looking to defend it for the 5th time. Yes Man Sanchez comes into this with a two fight win streak, but it will be only his 2nd fight with the HFC. Sanchez has KO power, but most of his wins have come by way of decisions. Fight prediction, Bailey continues to defend his title by KO. Poffo the current Welterweight Champion is coming off his title win over Northrop by triangle submission at HFC 103. Northrop was making his first defense of the title when he succumbed to the Columbus, Ohio native in the 3rd round. Definitely a great fight before, and now a rematch is happening to determine who is greater. Northrop had a 3 fight win streak all by submissions before he himself lost by submission.
