Tweedle Dee (34-6-1) vs Kostas Charalabous (24-5)

Freshly crowned middleweight title holder and ultra durable Tweedle Dee will stake his crown against the violent knockout specialist Kostas Charalabous in a seriously high level encounter. The sheer amount of destruction these men have carved in the middleweight scene is truly something to behold. They both possess brutal raw knockout power but it is Charalabous who stands out as the more consistent finisher. He has stopped almost ninety percent of his wins with strikes which is a phenominal statistic considering he has nearly thirty pro bouts. His grappling prowess is no doubt inferior to the champions so he will be looking to engage in a battle on the feet and dethrone the champion with his dauting power. Tweedle Dee has his hands very much full with this violent challenger and he might choose not to engage in a firefight with the savage competitor. He has never been finished in his lengthy career and has a clear advan

HBGG to Open Up New Divisions for More Diversity

Editorial by "Krimzn" Guns McKenzie

Much of the success of the HBGG has come from the most elite grapplers in the world competing for the ultimate prize, a chance at their division’s gold.  With guys like Rowan Atkinson, Ivan Lavronenko and Judge Holden leading the way, new guys looking to become grappling champions are left with very little hope of ever having the strap around their waist.  The way the current divisions are built, this is seemingly impossible, but with McKenzie at the helm, he’s turned impossible to done.

“We’ve wanted to open up new divisions for a little while and with all the hype surrounding TWGC, now seems like the perfect opportunity to do it.  We’ll have a brand new Lightweight [Newcomers] Division for grapplers under 155lbs.  This [Newcomers] division will be restricted to fighters registered over 220k and allow grapplers who are up and coming to have a place to do battle in.”

But that’s not the only thing he had in mind.  Also to join the [Newcomers] division, will be th

Fighter profile of Karate Kid by Aylib 2.0

The fighter known as Karate Kid did not grow up to be a fighter, at least not according to his father, Tetsuya Ikeda. The elder man, himself a black belt in Japanese Jujutsu (not to be confused with BJJ) states that the boy grew up eager to learn, curious about the world around him.

Since later stages of toddlerhood, K.K. showed promise in languages, rapidly expanding his Japanese vocabulary, and also picking up Korean from the Zainichi Koreans residing nearby.

As the child grew, he also impressed with his ability to transform watercolors into serene scenes that belied their authors age.

Tom Quin Q&A

Fighter profile of Shogun Iron Tyson by Alika Webb

Q: Dear martial arts fans for the fourth time in a row I am doing an interview with Tom Quin. The 18 year old prospect from Holland talked about competing in a tournament to crown the BEEF’s 145 champion. Now Tom last time you talked about the public statement you made about your opponent. One of the things you said about your opponent was that you were simply better than him, do you still feel that way?

Tom: Well even though I did manage to knock him out in the first round, the fight could’ve gone either way in my opinion. My opponent Walter White pushed the pace and did everything he could to take me down, fortunately my wrestlin

TWW News Special Of The Year Edition

Editorial by Don Frye

TWW News - of the Year Special Edition.

Hello Fellow tycoons and welcome to a special edition of TWW news. Today we will be focusing on the of the year awards so far, with less than a month to go the race is really heating up. So let us start things off.

Manager of the year

1. Lance Templeton – Last year’s winner of the trophy has been on fine form this year yet again. Currently sitting with 4 #1 fighters in 4 different weight divisions is pretty insane and that is just for starters. Sat on the #1 position for most of the year Lance has been dominant as ever.

2. Sean McDonnel – King of the midgets, the new engine could not have been more of a blessing for Sean as he was one of the first to pick it up. Hitting #1 this year with both fighter and manager was the highlight of the year for him. Has been very consistent being able to hover around the top 50 for most of the year. Overall been a great year for him.

MMA INSIGHT RADIO: Elvis Frost

Fighter profile of Patrick McWhiskey by Chris Karter

We're here with one of the top ranked Light Heavyweight's in the world, who's recently made headlines because his next opponent is current EVO Champion and #1 ranked P4P fighter in the world, Smokudju Womba.

Elvis, just how excited are you to be fighting the best fighter on the planet? Are you nervous? Anxious? Describe the emotions running though you right now.

"I am ready to go."

You don't quite carry as much hype as the fighters that Womba has fought recently, how does that make you feel?

"Like a leprechaun following a rainbow to me pot o' gold."

You have a black belt under Eddie Bravo, but you must admit that you've never faced a grappler of Womba's caliber. When it comes to MMA he puts the Gracie's to shame. You've never been submitted in your career, have you accepted that as a possibility?

"I know Womba is high level on the ground, it is well within me, this is combat. Anything can happen out there."

Lance Legstrong and his emotional road to TUM glory

Fighter profile of Lance Legstrong by Rory Daly

Lance Legstrong, TUM contender, was seen by many as a lost cause in the tournament as he was a late entrant put forward by his manager, Rory Daly. Everyone in the tournament saw Daly and his camp as a bit of a joke and kind of like a gate keeper type manager that was somewhere in between a noob and veteran. Well, Lance Legstrong is here to prove all the doubters wrong, he has already beaten 2 very worthy managers’ fighter’s; Michael Patrick McDonell managed, by Sean McDonnell and Ronny Bruvik, managed by Manuel tose. Bruvik has now changed his name to Arzlan Bathory, people believe this is because he was too embarrassed about his loss against Legstrong to keep his original name. Well, nothing to be ashamed of Bathory, Legstrong looks to be a very good prospect for the future. Daly had this to say about him:

“I gotta say I am very happy with Lance, I even thought he was destined to lose as he was a late entry and had missed out on weeks of valuable training time but he is still here and now in the quarter finals of TUM! He has shown that he picks up new skills fast in training, he is a clever young man and has a chin like none other so now I can say with some confidence t

BFT - 256 Review

Event Review: BFT-256: GP Round 2 PPV
Blunt Force Trauma
2013-12-15, Sydney, Sydney Superdome
Attendance:18,500, Event Rating:410
Author:

We made our way into the quarter finals of the Grand Prix. Not a single one of the GP fights went to a decision. In addition to that, this card matched the highest attended BFT event, was the second highest rated BFT card at 409.88, and had the highest PPV sales to date at 54,677. It was an exciting card with a lot of finishes, so let's get started

Lightweight - The former BFT Welterweight Champion and BFT Hall of Famer Guilherme "Buscape" Alves knocked out RCS, Valhalla, and FCD vet "Le dechireur" Bonhomme Sept Heures with strikes with one second remaining in the first round.

Heures brought the fight into the clinch and was landing well with some short punches and elbows. With the success Alves was having in the clinch, he brought it back there when the broke off. After a streak of successful blows, Alves dove for a takedown that was successful and started to work Sept Heures over with some ground and pound. Sept Heures went for some submission attempts
