Q: Die hard kickboxing fans might have already heard of him but he is still relatively unknown in the martial arts world. Boxing specialist Jay Merel just comes off a great decision victory over his first true rival Jake Gustaffson. Jay you already fought Gustaffson before, was it justified to have a rematch so soon?
Jay: Definitely, the first match I barely won by decision. He was a little more aggressive than me in our first fight but not only did he miss most of his punches, I also managed to drop him in the second round which guaranteed my victory.
Q: You did manage to drop him in your first fight but you couldn’t finish him and you couldn’t finish him in the rematch, do you credit that to Jake’s toughness or your own inability to finish him?
Jay: Jake’s a tough fighter, there’s no doubt about that. That’s why I wanted that rematch too, to prove that first fight wasn’t a flu cont... |

Marshal 'Average Joe' Brady
Today i want to go through the history of a fighter that almost never would have stepped foot inside the cage.
Marshal Brady is described by himself as a normal man just taking each day as they come but truth is he is much more than that. Still early days into what we hope will be a successful career a 4-1 record and the current title holder in the 265 division at World Combat Sports Association Marshal is looking like he will be a champion for quite sometime.
Living with his wife and child in Downtown L.A he worked as a bricklayer earning a ok wage, then on a night out with his friends he encountered a woman being attacked by three men. Without hesitation Marshal ran over to help the woman, the three men turned the attention to marshal and got more than they bargained for when he easily took each of them out with easy and helped the lady get away with only minor injuries. His stunned friends who witnessed what happened urged him cont... |

Recently, the Titan Gym in Amsterdam became available on the open market. The gym was purchased by fight manager Gary Miller. Based out of New York, Miller immediately began renovations on the gym and hiring new staff. Many locals expected the changes to be followed by heftier fees. Instead, only a day after he had purchased the gym, Miller announced that Titan was to be a not for profit gym dedicated to helping athletes train.
In a phone conversation Miller stated, “I love martial arts. Training, conditioning and forging your body. It’s what I do. That’s why I’ve surrounded myself with it. I’ve been blessed and I want to give back to other athletes that might not have the cash to train in gyms that cater to the elite. Here at Titan, they will receive the same high quality training with top notch equipment and trainers for only fifty bucks a month.”

BFT 273: Mazzarri vs Atsushi 4 Review
Heavyweight - BFT newcomer Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko cut open 2x BFT Award Winner "Demolition Man" Alistair Overeem at 4:57 in round 1 forcing the ref to stop the fight.
This fight saw a lot of striking action, mostly in the clinch. Emelianenko was really cracking Overeem with elbows and knees in the clinch. Overeem was throwing, but Emelianenko was able to avoid taking too much damage. It started with an early knee from Fedor that cut open Overeem. Overeem was able to respond with a nice elbow that cut open Fedor, but then Fedor cut open Overeem with some nice elbows of his own. He took some really bad shots from those elbows and it started looking like a horror movie. Overeem broke the clinch up in hopes of making it into round 2 to get his cut treated a little bit; Fedor had other plans. After a few nice shots, Fedor dropped Overeem with a nice left and hurt him bad. It really opened up that gas cont... |
