NFC 78: Christainson vs Jun
Main Event
205lbs (Title Fight)
Gabe Christianson v Keio Jun
Gabe is coming into this as the favourite but will have to be cautious of NFC vetern Keoi. It will be very interesting seeing where this fight takes place, we could see a war if this fight stays standing with both fighters having KO power in their hands and both fighters have been KO'd before in their MMA careers. Gabe is extremely flexible and I'm sure this will definitely help he should this fight end up on the ground.

"This Saturday, 11th Of August, fresh from the arena spectacular of BFC: publicity stunt , St-Petersberg based promotion Brutal Fighting Championships return to the more intimate setting of Hard Knocks- which last saw the promotion here for BFC super wednesday 2 just a few weeks ago. That night over 2,800 fight fans packed out the hall to see Maraco Draco, making his BFC début after carving out a 10 fight career in Helsinki, become the new BFC bantam weight champion.
Headlining this weeks card is light heavyweight champion Quentin Costa (6-1 MMA 1-0 BFC) making the first defence of his belt against knockout artist Og Kush (23-12 MMA, 2-1 BFC). Kush made his case for the title shot with a highlight reel knock out of Malu Munoz that earned him the 6th KO of the night award of his career. The veteran striker will be looking to continue his streak of knock out stoppages against the champion. The champion and Russian top team product Costa, has claimed to be happy where ever the fight takes place, but surely will look to make use of his BJJ brown belt to dominate Kush (who has been submitted 3 times in his career- most recently in his BFC début by previous 205lb king Jimmy cont... |

BFT - 126 Review
Heavyweight - Atilla Orban knocked out Rooster "True Grit" Cogburn with strikes at 1:08 in round 2.
Cogburn was clearly out of Orban's league on the fee. Orban went on a full on rampage on the feet. Jabs, Crosses, Body shots were all finding homes. A solid hook landed early cutting Rooster right under his eye. When Orban saw blood, he knew he wasn't going to back down. Corburn kept trying to clinch up, and midway through the round it cost him. He was countered perfectly that knocked him down and rocked him. On top on the ground, Orban tried to get to a better position to get a submission. Since the arm triangle didn't work, he decided to stand things up. At the end of the round, Cogburn got the clinch he wanted, but couldn't do anything with it. Round 2 saw an early knockdown and the beginning of the end. After picking apart Cogburn on the feet, he finally ended things with a big hook. A one sided beat down.
Lightweight - Suchart "Fishbowl" Chaowanungkarn Unanimous decisioned Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.
"Fishbowl" was dancing with the devil in this one, playing right into "Pacman's" strength on the feet. He used a great strategy on the feet. He used a steady barrage of leg kicks to set himself up for other attacks. But Pacquiao was fighting back. He landed some good shots, some to the head, some to the body. The first round went as planned for Fishbowl and was able to not only take it, but cut up Pacman. The second round had Pacquiao attack a little more, but at this point it was too late for him. His leg was starting to welt up, and began to take away his speed and power. Fishbowl used that to his advantage and continued his way to a solid performance. Pacman showed his heart in the final round. He kept going and at was swinging hard. But his leg was seriously messed up, and really couldn't keep up with the fresher Fishbowl. cont... |

FCC 5: Title Night Review
Ladies and Gentlemen, What a great night of MMA. Wild Bob's Bar of St Petersburg was packed with fight fans who could not wait for the action to start. Tonight saw the crowning of two champions for the vacant lightweight and welterweight belt as well as the pro debuts of a few promising young fighters
The night opened with the pro debuts of two promising young Featherweights, Zap Zarab and Lindsey Brown. A close first round saw a cautious start from both fighters with a great mix of stand up and ground fighting. Zarab tried to take the fight to the ground in round 2 but Brown had his number and kept the fight standing. Round 3 and Zarab upped his game and brought the fight to Brown, Unfortunately it was not enough and Brown took the win by unanimous decision. Fight 2 had Undefeated Randy Silva take on Vlad Dudnicov. A fantastic fight and well deserving the Fight of the night award. Dudnicov wanted to tie Silva up in the clinch early on with Silva countering with body combinations. Dudnicov got the clinch and pressed Silva against the cage. Silva took it to the ground and tried a kimura to no avail. The referee stood the fighters back up and the two exchanged punches until Silva shot a takedown and got the mount. Round 2 Dudnicov rushes Silva with a wild flurry but Silva side steps and shoots the double leg takedown. Both fighters stand back up and Silva takes it to the ground again and throws some bombs. Back on their feet they traded again until a Dudnicov cont... |
