Kilo vs. Conor VII
Is there perhaps any competitive matchup that exemplifies the definition of Synchronicity itself more than Kilo “BloodBath” Maluga and Conor Barbarian? The two top five pound for pound fighters in the world, the two very best Heavyweights in the world engage in the Syn stage for a seventh time. Conor versus Kilo is the pinnacle of the best Syn card in all of Syn history and it couldn't be a better time.
The two heavyweight kings are tied in a match up with each other. Three wins for the Pirate and 3 wins for the Barbarian. Each of the six fights were stopped early and surprisingly so. A few times do doctor stoppages due to the cuts. A couple times due to TKO punishment where the referee had to step in and perhaps the most memorable time of all, the head kick heard around the world.
Their first matchup at Rapid FC saw a shocking knee finish for the Heavyweight Crown and handed Conor his first true loss. After being on a sensational win cont...

MAIN EVENT: Frankie Venegas (5-0) vs Durans Helmsfrid Jr (3-1)
The bantamweight champ returns to the octagon where he faces Durans Helmsfrid Jr in a non title featherweight bout. After defending his belt for the first time almost two weeks ago Frankie may be gunning for the featherweight belt. The King of the Islands seems to find no worthy opponent in his weight class just yet and is trying his hand with the slightly big boys while his normal competition develops. The champ has five wins (three in org) and he's finished all fights via submission. Welcoming him to the featherweight division is none other than Durans Helmsfrid Jr, a promising mixed martial artist with a professional record of three wins and one loss. He also has won all his fights via submission and his single loss has come via TKO. He holds a BJJ Brown belt, just a single level above his opponent's purpl cont...

Oysten Arseth defeats Tapio Tapsanen via KO (Punches)
The first fight of the night turned out to be a decent encounter between Oysten Arseth and Tapio Tapsanen. Arseth was dominating the stand up action and Tapio also could not find a way to finish him on the ground. One minute into the second round Arseth dropped Tapsanen with a monstrous combination before jumping into his guard. He then realized how bad of a choice that was and stood up again forcing his opponent to do the same and that's when he caught him with another combination that had Tapsanen out cold inside the octagon.
Andre Mith defeats Artur Vasiliauskas via TKO (Strikes)
It's hard to say if Mith had a strategy at all going into this fight because he was just doing anything that he could think of. He attempted twenty six head punches but only landed six, one of which got the job done. Vasiliauskas on cont... |

VS.
{C} Roy vs. Pawlik {1}
Lightweight Championship of The World
On January Thirtieth "Thick" Dick Pawlik took a fight just two weeks after he defeated one of the very best Lightweights, we have ever seen in Bathory by submission. The red belt grand master in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu figured should he get this fight to the ground at any point he would show the far less experienced grappler that there are serious levels to this game. Unfortunately for Pawlik he would not be able to secure any of the submission he attempted and would see perhaps the most debated decision I have ever seen. Rob "The Pride of Scotland" Roy took home the title and a new sense of confidence that he would likely never suffer a submission loss in his career if even "Thicc" Dick couldn't make him submit.
The animosity between these two has been quite apparent in recent weeks with one team claiming that the other cont... |
