Gladiator Fighting Championship made its debut on the Las Vegas MMA scene on Saturday night with a tremendous fight card. The Palmtree was almost filled to capacity with fans eager to see what this new fight org was all about. GFC certainly did not disappoint. The night started out somewhat slowly with first three fights going the distance, but then the final seven fights on the card ended with exciting first round finishes. Let's recap the night of action.
The night started off with a welterweight tilt between Damian Roshan (26-14-2) and Dingle Berrian (18-7). Berrian came out aggressively, looking to hurt Roshan early, but was quickly deposited onto his back by a nice takedown. Roshan went to work with some nice ground and pound while mixing in some submission attempts throughout the first round. Berrian attempted a few submissions of his own from his back, but was clearly out-grappled and had no answer for Roshan's ground attack. The second round looked like a carbon copy of round one, with Berrian aggressively stalking Roshan but ending up on his back after a takedown. Again, Berrian desperately tried to submit Roshan, but was on the receiving end of more ground and pound and submission attempts. Berrian knew he was down two rounds to none and neede cont...

EPL Event One is behind us - little review of what we saw from EPL competitors.
Opening bout was Evander Holyshit Vs Jake Ryan - first round was a pretty much what people expected from it - they bang it out, tried their chins and showed some high level striking skills. They started to bleed in first minute. Evander tried to use his muay thai, clinched up and did some damage, as well as Ryan did. Round ended with obvious dominance of Ryan, who was able to stop every single takedown attempt from his opponent. Round two was pretty much same - they came out banging, Evander kicked his opponent few times, and Im sure that Jake felt them, once again Holyshit clinched fight up in last minute, but still couldn't take Jake down.
Fight ended and all judges scored it 20-18 - for the winner by Unanimous Decision - Jake Ryan.
Second bout was a meeting of Tyler Dignman and Duncan McAlister - and according to Vicious Bets, Tyler was a favo cont... |

---, Fight Organization, Las Vegas Company profile by Welcome Hilo's newest fight organisation: Hilo Fighting League
The goal of our organisation is to bring a fresh new spin to the Hilo MMA scene. How would we do that you may ask, well we have come up with an idea to host a different kind of tournament:
A weight category will have two groups of fighters eg: Group A and Group B
All fighters in the group will face each other once.
Group standings will be published before and after all the events
The top two fighters of each group will face of in semi finals and then finals to be crowned champ.
If by some chance there is a draw fighters popularity and hype will be considered as to who goes through to the next round.
Very excited about this concept I believe it delivers a fresh twist to the MMA world. If you are interested in joining or have any questions drop me a pm: Gavin Hunt (71164) |

Vanilla Ice Cold is off to pastures new. After a 14-1 run with Cornell Cage Fighting, Ice has now moved down a weight class and will now be fighting in las Vegas.
Ice and his management would like to thank CCF and its staff for their accomodations, whci allowed for Ice's development. During his time with CCF, Ice went from a green rookie surviving on heart to a formidable opponent that currently ranks 6th in his weight class. Ice's only defeat came via submission, in a battle where Ice refused to tap, waking up with his first loss after 7 wins. Ever since that loss, much attention has been dedicated to grappling--whether submission defense, wrestling, or even clinch. That loss, which snapped a 7-fight winning streak was used as a chance to re-evaluate management's direction with Ice's development, as well as the need to re-assess approaches to game-planning.
With more work dedicated to grappling, Ice was able to avenge his submission loss, knocking out Tom Jones, the man who put Ice to sleep via the arm triangle during their first encounter. Ice's dedication to grappling did not go unnoticed, as in his first victory via submission soon followed--Joe Santiago was finally caught with an armbar, after fighting off 11 submission attempts during the 2-round affair.
While Ice Cold remains a striker, as his 12 TKOs would attest to, his ground game has been steadily improving, and the word is that Ice wants to transition to a phase that would see him become less predictable and more dangerous, as he would be able to apply a healthy diet of kicks, takedowns and GnP to his already impressive striking.
How will he do at 13 cont...

Hello HERO fight fans. I'm AJ Nex. Every week seems to be a great one in HERO and this week was no exception. Two great fight cards took place. Wednesday night was Movember Spectacular, which was headlined by a featherweight title fight between Antero Wursty and Zhijing Wang. Then, on Saturday, HERO 44 was stacked with three main event calibre fights. Both events were sponsored bu our great partner FinnSubs.
The sponsorships offered by FinnSubs benefitted HERO fighters, putting more money in their pockets and more supplements in their possession. FinnSubs has been a big supporter, so don't forget to thank them in post fight interviews.
Speaking of the future, our next event, HERO 45, will be the 60th event in HERO history. It will also be the first PPV event in HERO history. To headline, we have two of the top ranked HERO fighters in our strongest cont... |

Immortals New York 150k+ - The Gods Need a Hero
INY 44 Cunha Vs Stewart
23 November 2012
Hayashi’s Lounge
Main Event
170lb Division: Cunha vs Stewart
Two time World Champion makes his first appearance since suffering his first KO loss at the hands of Erik Bennett. Cunha may not be receiving the close attention from Team Boogie that he has in the past but the ground and pound specialist is still a fearsome proposition. Facing him is Don Stewart a man he has beaten 2 years ago, but a man that loves avenging losses. Stewart has wonderful boxing, KO power as Davies can testify last time, and a ground game that should nullify Cunha’s strength on the ground this time around. I’m backing Stewart to inflict a second straight KO loss on the former champ.
