Last weeks idiom was March, in like a lion, out like a lamb, this week, well use April showers bring May flowers. By this, we at SPFT mean that we will be showering you with incredible fights all through the month of April, simply so that we can bring you even better ones in May. Sounds like a pretty good deal, doesnt it? This week the Super Heavyweights will be stealing the show, as they are headlining both the Main Event and Co-Main Event this week. Hopefully the cage can handle those four monsters fighting within its confines. First, lets talk about some of the smaller fighters who will be brawling on the undercard.
Tommy McDonald has only won two fights in his nine fight SPFT career. Granted, one of those wins was against SPFT legend, El Guapo, however even that fight back in October was four fights ago, and was the last time he has won. At 34 years old, his best days may sadly be behind him. McDonald will be an excel cont...

GFC XIX was the talk of the town in Las Vegas on Sunday night when Gladiator Fighting Championship once again filled The Parisian to capacity. Fans took in a fantastic night of MMA action that saw seven finishes in the ten fights including a string of five straight first round finishes in the middle of the card. Let's recap the action:

Nicolas Karkmananis (6-5) showed is dominance in the first fight, picking up a very impressive win over Rafael Oliveira (2-4). Karkmananis used a very unorthodox strategy in the first round, repeatedly clinching up with Oliveira and pulling guard, often times to simply try a small ground offensive attack and them stand back up. Despite the questionable strategy, Oliveira was unable to get anything going and Karmananis easily took the round on the judges' scorecards. Karkmananis came out firing to start round two and was able to rock and knock down Oliveira early. Karkmananis followed him the ground but once again, inexplicably he st cont... |

BFT 194 Khan vs Nitschke Review
Welterweight - Former title challenger "Brown and Pound" Ball Sack Jr. KO'ed Iqbal "Mamute" Al Mamood with punches at 1:19 in the round 1.

The emphasis here is on don't blink. Sack was swinging hard and landing, where as Al Mamood was swinging. A solid 4 punch combo had Al Mamood dazed and a few more brutal shots sent him to the hospital. Some great shots by Ball.

Lightweight - Jacob Smith submitted Curt "The War" Warburton with an armbar at 1:28 in round 1.

The fight got started, and Smith went for the clinch. Warburton didn't like it there at all, so he immediately took things down. From there Sm cont... |

Welcome back to Part 2 of the Lightning Fight League story, and we start with the happy news that the first LFL show, creatively entitled "LFL 1" has had every fight confirmed. Special thanks go to manager Marlon Dean who kindly allowed some of his fighters to fight at short notice. With that show all ready to go on Saturday April 13th it becomes time for me to start working on a second card. If only it were that easy...
We now have 30 fighters on the roster, and basic maths will tell you that with 20 fighters already scheduled for the first show it means only ten fighters available cont... |

Hey GAMMA and MMA fans, it is Capelli King for yet another GAAAAMMMMAA Gossip. In this weeks Gossip, i want to focus on what happened last weekend, starting with GAMMA#297 Green v Watts.
IN the co-main event we had Frank Sinatra take on Raz Matazz, in a rematch which was over 2 years in the making. This time round though it was a much closer fight, with Frank earning himself a cut early in round 1, however this did not stop him from winning the round. Raz tried to mix up his strategy with a varied attacks, where as Frank mostly worked his boxing, going for a takedown whenever he got a chance.
The end decision was very VERY (did i say very) close, with 2 judges giving it to Frank and one to Raz. All judges had the 3rd round for Raz Matazz though, so if this was a championship fight Raz probably would have taken it. Raz is currently in his worse slump in his career and in his next fight he will be getting his trilogy against Fred Ettish.
In the main event of GAMMA#297, the underdog Usain Watts took on the up and coming superstar Keith Green. Keith showed once again why he is so highly rated with another KO win over a highly rated veteran. Usain went in very strong in the fight, winning by close margin rounds one and 2, with Usain fighting over a very early cut in the first round.
In the end though, Keith's granite ch cont... |

 UNDER CARD
Featherweight Fight
#25 Josef Urrah (1-0 NGF) v #24 Harrold Scott (0-1 NGF)
Josef Urrah and Harrold Scott were both making their career debut in this one, I wish I could tell you it was memorable, but I cant. Josef Urrah looked very strong in this one; he pushed the pace and controlled the fight. Harrold Scott looked down right awful in this one, he had no game plan and he looked lost and out of place in this one, not even landing a strike. Urrah looked good standing and on the ground, totally dominating this one and winning by TKO at 4:56 of the 1st. I will be interested to see how Urrah responds in his next fight.
Featherweight Fight
#21 Mark Reynolds (2-0 NGF) v #20 Dirk Diggler (4-5 NGF)
I was looking forward to seeing this, I thought Dirk Diggler was going to push the pace, he cont... |

Having literally punched his way to securing the welterweight title and becoming the first ever BRFC champion in the 170lbs division, Matthew Connor has made a huge impression and proved to be a great champion in his young MMA career. The American Muay Thai specialist will look to make his first title defense against The Tazmanian Beast himself, Illias Stefano. Stefano earned his shot for the welterweight gold with three straight victories in a row during his BRFC career, all coming by way of some nasty and most vicious ground n pound. These two undefeated warriors will take to the cage on Sunday, 7th April to see who will be leaving cont... |
