Main Card

Lightweight Bout

Cormac Mac Airt Defeated Kra Hang 2nd round TKO (Strikes)

"The Boogeyman" continues his winning ways as he collects his 4th straight victory and 2nd straight under his new management team. He did so with an impressive win over the former Lightweight champion Kra Hang at that. Hang looked sharp in Round 1, as Mac Airt looked to pull guard for the most part. Mac Airt though may have been using that guard pull as a distraction and almost midway through round 2 he landed a nice combo that turned the tables. After a failed clinch attempt from Hang, Cormac lined up another nice combo that sealed the deal, winning the bout via TKO Strikes at 3:32 in round #2.

Super Heavyweight Bout

Vern Vurris Drew with Don Cortez

The next bout was a bit of a Surprise in many ways, first off how these two Behemoths go all 15 minutes? The answer to that is both of these Men have the conditioning of true warriors. The second question is did the judges score this one correctly? This question there is no real answer to. I think it could have very well gone to Cortez, but it could have gone to Vurris as well. So maybe a Draw was a good outcome. Vurris was slightly more accurate, but Cortez was the aggressor. Vern had two Successful Takedowns in the fight, but it was Cortez who got the better of his opponent on the mat. That said Cortez Management with true warrior spirit has mentioned he wanted a rematch, and the fight offer is currently on the table.

Lightweight Bout

Aubrey Grant Defeated Chike Obi via a Unanimous Decision

Another former Lightweight champion in Aubrey grant took to the cage next as he looked to get back on track after dropping his belt to the current champ Pinkman. Aubrey showcased his skills to perfection Friday Night in London mixing his strikes in route to a dominant Unanimous Decision verdict. His opponent Chike Obi was having little success in the standup, and might have had better luck with his grappling where he did ground Grants striking abilities a little with the ol handy dandy clinch and pull guard technique. Grant now will jump right back in saddle and face Jesse Pinkman for the Lightweight title once again. On the Stacked New Year's Day event at the Sydney Superdome.

Co-Main Event

Middleweight bout

Ramone Rocksaw Defeated Pavel Kostov via 2nd round TKO (Strikes)

In the Co-Main Event Former CWMMA Middleweight champ and DMMA MW title challenger Double R rallies for an impressive 2nd round finish of Pavel Kostov. Rocksaw is now a winner of his last three bouts all of which have been T(KO) finishes. Rocksaw used his counter punches nicely and they ultimately were the deciding factor in the scrap. Ramone is now on the hot seat as the 27-year-old will look to be in a potential #1 contender fight next, as he hopes to finally get back in title contention. Meanwhile for Pavel it was a tough loss, that snapped a nice two fight win streak of his own. Kostov already has a date for his next showdown as the Russian looks to an all out war against Ukranian born Zachary Klimenko at the New Years event.

Main Event

Bantamweight bout

Koos Van Asch Defeated Yoshimitsu Fukumitsu (Fight of the Night)

The Main Event for Friday Night Fights XVI pitted two former Dynasty champions who both looked to put their names back atop the Bantamweight rankings. Former Featherweight champ Koos Van Asch picked up his 2nd win in his new weight class via Unanimous Decision. Koos had Fukumitsu in all kinds of trouble late in round two but the Japanese fighter full of heart and pride was not going down without a fight. Van Asch was having his most Succes with his leg Kicks landing 17 out of 19 there as he unloaded everything he had at the challenger. As for former Bantamweight champ Yoshimitsu Fukumitsu his gameplan was clearly to Snipe his opponents head the entire fight which he had a hard time landing strikes with this method. Van Asch was eagerly looking to finish this fight but props to Yoshi for keeping the fans on their feet the remainder of the bout. Van Asch now looks to be lined up against another former champion in Mauritz Assndrop, although this fight is not confirmed at this time.

Main Card

Light Heavyweight bout

Charles Tucker Defeated Shape Shifter via Unanimous Decision

A true Pioneer of Dynasty MMA and HOF winner Charles "Trip" Tucker bounce back with a fight of dominance as he took a Unanimous verdict over BJJ Red Belt Shape Shifter, who continues to shift his shapes nicely. Shifter's BJJ was null and void as Tucker shut down any and every attempt of offense the Shifter attempted. Giving the majority of this fight took place on the ground Tucker just a BJJ Brown belt proves that the color of your belt is not always an indicator of your skill set in an MMA fight. If this was a Grappling bout, we may hear a different story from this bout but here in MMA give the former DMMA Light Heavyweight champ his dues bitches!

Middleweight Division

Kareem Johnson Defeated Edward Grubbs via 1rst round TKO (Strikes) "KO of the Night"

Former Middleweight champ Kareem Johnson is back in top form winning his last two fights inside the very first round. Saturday night it took just 2 minutes and 6 seconds to dispose of Edward Grubbs who was trying to take his 4th straight fight. Some guys don't like the taste of their blood, Mr. Johnson is not one of those pansies he loves that shit, and it instantly lit a disturbing fire in his eyes. Johnson only landed 5 out of 20 strikes but they were all sent with explosive fortitude. The end came when Edward missed a body shot that Kareem countered with a left, then a right, and then one more left sending Grubbs down and the ref immediately jumping in to save him from any unneeded punishment.

Welterweight Title Eliminator

Gustav Harakka Defeated Ralph Hall via 2nd round Submission (Strikes)

Three times Gustav Harakka has tried to snag that WW title, and three times Jaxon Magrath has shut him down. Now with Magrath down at LW, the door is wide open and last Saturday night in his backyard Harakka took full advantage of the opportunity. Round one went to Ralph Hall who has also looked incredible coming onto this fight winning 4 straight but he struggled to secure any of his 14 submission attempts in the first round. Round two I'm pretty sure Hall quite while he was sitting on his stool while his cornerman cursed him and told him to Finish this Muther F&&er over and over. Round 2 Harakka looking like Sugar Ray went off on Hall with a brief striking clinic. After dropping his foe to his knees Gustav tee off with ground and pound quickly and Ralph wanted known of it as he taps to strikes.

Gustav will now face Raminus Polus for the vacant Welterweight belt at DMMA 160 on New Year's Day.

Co-Main Event

Lightweight Championship

Jesse Pinkman Defeated Jaxon Magrath via 1rst round Submission (Triangle)

In the Co-Main Event one that could very easily be considered a Main event in its own right Current Lightweight champion Jesse Pinkman somewhat shocked the world as he bests the most Dominant DMMA fighter in History Jaxon Magrath. This loss was Magrath's only loss in the Promotion as he was looking to become the first Two Division champ in History. Jesse a well renowned red belt in the art of BJJ held his own in the early standup exchanges but it was clear he wanted to take this fight to the ground. Shortly after passing the 1-minute mark Pinkman lands a double leg and lands right in full guard. Magrath was the aggressor on the ground, but he may have made a major mistake when he transitioned into Pinkmans Full guard. The end came at 4 minutes and 18 seconds of round one when Pinkman latches on a Triangle and slowly tightened it like the python he is for the tap.

Jesse is now set for his third straight Title defense as he meets Aubrey Grant for a 2nd time.

As for the Legend that is Magrath, He will be back in the DMMA cage on 2023-01-07 as he looks to stop the rising Irish fighter Cormac Mac Airt. This one has title implications written all over it.
