With a record of 24 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Proctor!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marailov jabbing away but nothing is landing.

and Proctor counters with a head kick that drops Marailov to the mat! Marailov scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Oooooh!!! Marailov has knocked Proctor down with a huge combo! Marailov steps away and waves a wobbly Proctor back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Michael Proctor has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I was talking to Marailov's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Marailov wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Proctor has him pressed against the cage.

Marailov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Proctor counters with a crisp one two that drops Marailov! Proctor thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Marailov to his feet! Marailov is in big trouble!
Proctor throws out a loose jab but Marailov uses good head movement to avoid it.
Marailov scores with a shot to the body.
Proctor scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Marailov looks to clinch
and Proctor counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Oh Marailov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Proctor counters with a crisp right hand that drops Marailov! Proctor lets Marailov back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Marailov swings for the body but Proctor moves out of range.
Marailov throws a hook but Proctor blocks it.
Proctor slips a jab from Marailov.
Proctor keeps the fight on the outside.
Proctor takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A decent looking cross lands there for Marailov.
Proctor ducks under a wild hook from Marailov.
Proctor steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Marailov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Proctor manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Proctor slips a straight right by Marailov.
Proctor has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Marailov.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gustav Marailov will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Proctor feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Marailov sprawling to the canvas! Marailov rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Proctor finish him?!
Marailov jabs Proctor to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Marailov connects with a good right hand that stumbles Proctor. Proctor circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Marailov tries to close the distance and clinch but Proctor swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Marailov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Marailov has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Proctor might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Proctor counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Marailov! He's just covering up as Proctor starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
