The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zangief closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Flower quickly recovers to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Zangief remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Alexander Volg Zangief is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Goldberg lands a big right hook! Harden looks hurt but is still standing! Goldberg lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Harden falls down and Goldberg dives in with a huge hammer fist! Harden's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Goldberg runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Zedidiah Goldberg really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Knockdown Clothes logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
The defeated James Harden had this to say: 'Back to the drawing board for me folks, this is just a bump in the road. I'll be back better than before soon!'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Blaze throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson.
Johnson throws a right hand that Blaze ducks under and follows up with a left that Blaze also avoids with ease.
Johnson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Johnson throws a looping overhand right but Blaze ducks down to avoid it.

John Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Blaze pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Johnson back to the cage. Blaze follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Johnson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Blaze to score with a decent uppercut.
The crowd cheers as Johnson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Blaze doesn't seem phased though.
Johnson looks to throw the jab but Blaze is out of range.
Blaze tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnson swivels and escapes.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Johnson! But no joy.
John Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Blaze shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Johnson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Blaze stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Johnson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Blaze with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Blaze has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Blaze shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Blaze shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Blaze was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Blaze is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
