The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benton tries for a takedown but Karlsson circles away easily
and Karlsson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Benton tries to clinch
and Karlsson counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Benton falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Karlsson counter with a right hand.

It looks like Aleksander Benton has been cut.
Karlsson scores with a hook to the body. Benton takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Karlsson lands a left and a right that send Benton crashing to the mat, dazed. Karlsson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Benton is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Benton misses with a takedown attempt
and Karlsson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Oh Benton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Benton is breathing heavily.
Benton glances at the clock... BAM! Karlsson nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Benton crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Benton is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chartier takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Sanchez cracks Chartier with a right hand to the side of the head.
Chartier shoots for a double leg takedown but Sanchez sprawls well. He's pushed Chartier's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sanchez lands with a cross.
Sanchez connects with an inside leg kick.

Chartier is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sanchez 's half guard.
Sanchez pushes Chartier off but Chartier dives into side control.
Sanchez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chartier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chartier is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sanchez 's shoulder. That is not cool.

Chartier is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sanchez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Chartier stands up and beckons Sanchez to his feet.
Chartier shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sanchez but Sanchez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Chartier throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Chartier is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Chartier closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sanchez quickly recovers to half guard.

Chartier is controlling the pace.

Chartier prevents Sanchez from improving his position.

Chartier stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Sanchez moves out of range as Chartier strikes.
Sanchez thinks about the counter body kick.
Chartier with a lazy takedown attempt
and Sanchez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Geno Chartier. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sanchez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
It looked like Chartier was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Sanchez trying to control the position but instead, Chartier has worked for underhooks and has pushed Sanchez into the ropes.
Sanchez is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.
Chartier tries for a takedown but Sanchez manages to get underhooks.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Marcos Sanchez .

Chartier drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Chartier passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Chartier really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Chartier has hold of Sanchez 's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Sanchez tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Chartier cranks the arm and Sanchez screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Sanchez , who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Mir stuffs the takedown attempt from Balboa. Balboa gets slowly back to his feet.
Balboa tries to clinch there but Mir circles away.
Mir misses with a straight right.
Balboa slips under a jab from Mir.
Balboa is looking to clinch.
Frank Mir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Balboa looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mir holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Balboa is keen to just control but Mir is a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mir is looking for a sweep. Balboa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mir moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mir had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Balboa defends it easily.

Mir looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Balboa is sitting in close to Mir's body. Mir has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Balboa is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Balboa is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Mir.

Fei steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Stern.
It looked like Fei was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Stern.
Stern plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Stern takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Fei throws a quick inside leg kick.
Andrew Stern seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fei closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Stern misses with a hook
and Fei counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Andrew Stern has been cut.
Decent striking displayed by Fei there.

Stern is still on wobbly legs! Can Fei finish him?
Fei sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Stern's defenses. It connects perfectly with Stern's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
