Mkubwa drops Villenueva with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Villenueva looks back up at him and smiles so Mkubwa waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Charlie Villenueva has been cut.
Mkubwa lands an uppercut, right on the button! Villenueva tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Santos closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Souza trying to hold on to Santos's head to control him but Santos postures up.
Santos with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Santos is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Souza is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Santos is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Souza sees it coming and defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Santos uses his free foot to push down on Souza's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Souza.

Santos is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Souza is surviving well by controlling Santos's body position as best he can.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Santos looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Santos is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Santos is working to tighten his grip on Souza's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Souza has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Santos is really squeezing tight and eventually Souza passes out! Santos breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

No joy there for McCarthy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A nice combination there by McCarthy.
Good leg kick by Greene there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
We've been told by McCarthy's head coaches at Sydney Combat Method that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Greene thuds his right hand into McCarthy's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
McCarthy on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Greene. Greene obviously looking to wear him down.
McCarthy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Greene moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McCarthy works Greene's body with a nice hook.
McCarthy misses with an uppercut. Greene saw that one coming.
McCarthy throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Greene counters with a low kick, right behind McCarthy 's knee.
McCarthy throws a right hand that Greene ducks under and follows up with a left that Greene also avoids with ease.
Greene tries a quick counter leg kick but McCarthy is wise to it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McCarthy fails to land with a series of punches.
Greene was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
McCarthy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Greene moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Greene lands with a thumping leg kick.
McCarthy misses with the combination.
McCarthy takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
McCarthy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

McCarthy looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Greene swings wildly with an uppercut but McCarthy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Greene lands with a short shot to the head.

Greene creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends McCarthy's eyes rolling into the back of his head! McCarthy drops to his knees and Greene pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Yodsawan Sitsongrit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sitsongrit lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Magnum has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Magnum and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That was a close round but I would say that Yodsawan Sitsongrit will probably get the nod.
That's time! Sitsongrit's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
