Nickal changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dent gets caught napping as Coker dives in and scores a takedown. Dent manages to retain guard.

Coker wants to take a breather but Dent is having none of it.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Coker working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dent is positioning himself well to prevent Coker advancing to mount.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Coker fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dent to the ground. Coker is now in Dent's guard.

Coker is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Coker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dent is controlling him.

Coker is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Dent lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

It looks like Daniel Coker has been cut.
Coker is in a horrible position here. Dent smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Coker is rocked!
Dent postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Coker out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Dent goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexei Shapirov (ranked 2313 p4p, 275 weight class) and Salman Shamkhalaev (ranked 1864 p4p, 227 weight class). Shamkhalaev comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Alter Bridge - Ties That Bind kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Salman Shamkhalaev told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Shapirov connects with a single shot there.
Shapirov uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Shamkhalaev has time to react.
Shapirov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shapirov wants it to stay on the feet.

Shamkhalaev ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Shamkhalaev drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Shapirov defends it well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shamkhalaev might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Shapirov haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Shamkhalaev has his foot on Shapirov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shapirov works his way back into a safe position though.

Shapirov is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Shamkhalaev has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Shapirov is looking to defend but Shamkhalaev has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Shapirov! Shamkhalaev pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Shapirov taps out and this one is all over!
