PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Beast Of The East (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rory Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz has chosen Youssoupha - Ne Compare Pas as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Beast Of The East!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rory Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The East slips under a jab from Diaz.
The East on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Diaz. Diaz obviously looking to wear him down.
Diaz misses with a body kick.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says The East as he avoids it easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The East bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Diaz's guard.

Diaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. The East gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

and The East counters with a body kick that stops Diaz in his tracks momentarily.
Diaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. The East tries to avoid it but Diaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag The East to the ground. The East escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Rory Diaz is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The East shoots in looking for a takedown but Diaz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing The East's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts The East, as that shot connected.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Beast Of The East showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Diaz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Rory Diaz tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
