Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hannibal Barca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eigi Takagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takagi has chosen Welcome to the Jungle as his entrance music. Eigi Takagi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eigi Takagi!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Lou da Vinci and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takagi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Barca.
Takagi lands a jab to the head.
Good standup being displayed there by Takagi as he connects with a hook.
Barca tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Takagi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Takagi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Takagi connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Takagi gets a takedown into half guard.
Barca looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Barca looking for submissions off his back.
Takagi landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Barca is not content to let Takagi control the position.
Takagi lands strikes from half guard.
Takagi working over Barca with some ground and pound. Barca looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Takagi connects with a nice short shot to Barca's temple.
Takagi lands a big elbow - Barca is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Takagi!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eigi Takagi!
An out of breath Eigi Takagi thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
