Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hipolito Rhodes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Spas Spasov!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spasov misses with a two punch combination.
Rhodes really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Spasov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rhodes pushes Spasov off but Spasov dives into side control.
Rhodes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
A lull in the action here.
Spasov postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spasov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rhodes keeps working.

Spasov has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rhodes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Spasov counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Spasov feints and as Rhodes raises his hands in defense, Spasov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Spasov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rhodes works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Spasov throwing strikes but missing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rhodes is on top in guard.

Spasov lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Spasov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rhodes is keeping the position for now.
Spasov stands and throws Rhodes's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Spasov looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Rhodes is avoiding damage well.
Rhodes is letting Spasov control him for a moment.

Rhodes wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Spasov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rhodes is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Spasov decides to stand back up. Spasov steps back and let's Rhodes get back to his feet.
Spasov scores with a three punch combo!

Spasov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rhodes tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Spasov trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Rhodes doesn't escape.
Spasov tries to get the hooks in deep but Rhodes pushed the leg off.
Spasov biding his time, controlling Rhodes.
Rhodes really is a fat lump.
Rhodes is trying to get back to his feet but Spasov has full control of the position and if anything, Rhodes has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Rhodes is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spas Spasov dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Spasov looks to land a combination. Rhodes sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Spasov shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Spasov slows the pace down in half guard.

Spasov escapes and gets back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rhodes looks for a takedown but Spasov sprawls well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rhodes slips a jab and a cross from Spasov.
Rhodes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Spasov avoids it really well and circles away.
Spasov wants to clinch.
Hipolito Rhodes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Spasov lands a left and a right that send Rhodes crashing to the mat, dazed. Spasov thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Rhodes is rocked!


It looks like Hipolito Rhodes has been cut.
Spasov lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Rhodes - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Spasov!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Spas Spasov!
