Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lowell Bowers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Brodie!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowers checks a low kick from Brodie.
Bowers seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Brodie closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Brodie has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bowers is trying to keep an underhook but Brodie manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brodie is thwarting Bowers's attempts to control the position.

Brodie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bowers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brodie on the ground.

Bowers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
It looks like Brodie is going to stand back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brodie is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Brodie working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Bowers holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Brodie slips a nice elbow through Bowers's hands, connecting with Bowers's forehead.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Brodie connects with a nice short shot to Bowers's temple.
Brodie tries to pass to full mount but Bowers defends it.
Brodie perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Bowers is trying to control but can't.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Brodie lands a nice short elbow.
Brodie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Brodie keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Bowers trying to hold on to Brodie's head to control him but Brodie postures up.
Brodie not doing much here.
Bowers really is a fat lump.
Brodie winds up and cracks Bowers with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Bowers wants to control the action here but instead Brodie manages to pass to full mount!

Bowers wants to control but Brodie is having none of it.
Bowers flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Brodie lands a big shot there that rocks Bowers but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Brodie looking to secure an arm triangle but Bowers defends it well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brodie sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Brodie fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


Bowers is rocked!

Brodie controlling from the full mount.
Oh Bowers is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big strike lands for Brodie! That's really hurt Bowers and he's turned his back - Brodie keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Brodie jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryan Brodie!
