Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Battle (ranked 3233 p4p, 331 weight class) and Hollywood Hogan (ranked 3975 p4p, 389 weight class). Hogan has chosen His personal NWO theme song as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Battle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hollywood Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Bruno Lombardi and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Battle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hogan to the mat! Hogan manages to get full guard.
Battle wants to control from the top but Hogan keeps moving.
Hogan being controlled here, momentarily.

Hogan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Battle scoring with punches to the head and body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Battle trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hogan's guard.
Hogan throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Battle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Battle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Battle is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hogan holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hogan goes for a double leg but Battle avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Battle continues to drive forward.
Hogan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Battle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hogan tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Battle throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hogan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Battle is in Hogan's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Battle looking to pass the guard.

Hogan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Battle defends well.
Hogan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Battle trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hogan's guard.
Battle slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Battle pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hogan is keeping the position for now.
Battle sitting in guard here, content to control.
Hogan looking to control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Battle drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hogan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Battle controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Battle with a flurry of punches that miss.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Battle's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Battle stopping the sweep attempt from Hogan.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hogan is on top in guard.

Hogan content to stall in guard here.
Battle keeping moving, preventing Hogan from controlling successfully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Battle is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Battle dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Battle clinches up with Hogan and pushes him back against the cage.
Battle stops a takedown attempt from Hogan.

Battle has hold of one of Hogan's legs. Hogan is fighting the takedown attempt but Battle gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Battle is looking to stand up but Hogan won't let him.

Battle looking to improve position, pressing down on Hogan's thigh with his hand. Hogan seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Battle paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Battle's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Hogan picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Hollywood Hogan!
After the fight, Hollywood Hogan was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
