The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Davies sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sanchez somewhat.
Sanchez is looking to clinch.
Davies misses with a straight right.
Sanchez attempts a counter takedown but Davies avoids it well and moves away.
Sanchez fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Davies shoots in but Sanchez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sanchez takes a kick to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanchez doesn't manage to clinch there - Davies circles away.
Davies changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Sanchez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Davies but Davies pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Davies's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sanchez connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Davies scrambles back to his feet.

Sanchez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Davies manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And Davies tries to counter it with a takedown but Sanchez pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Sanchez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Davies throws a lazy right hand but Sanchez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sanchez throws a big counter combination but Davies scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Sanchez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Davies's head backwards.

Sanchez pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well Davies has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
