Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tekashi Orochimaru (ranked 5851 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Davies (ranked 25671 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tekashi Orochimaru!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Davies!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davies pushes Orochimaru up against the cage in a clinch.
Orochimaru is pressed up against the cage. Davies has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Orochimaru down to the mat. Orochimaru avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Davies changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Orochimaru tries to avoid it but Davies manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Orochimaru to the ground. Orochimaru escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
As Davies tries to get set, Orochimaru tries to push him back and clinch up but Davies manages to avoid the attempt.

Orochimaru looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Davies!
Davies is looking to get back to his feet here but Orochimaru is keeping cool and he's managed to take Davies's back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Orochimaru slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

You can see the frustration on Davies's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Orochimaru is persistently looking for the submission but Davies is defending it well.
Davies trying to control the action but Orochimaru just sinks the hooks in.
Davies is keeping busy.

Davies is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Orochimaru off. It looks like it's working - Orochimaru slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Davies displaying calm under pressure there.

Davies tries to sprawl but Orochimaru drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Davies moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Orochimaru has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Davies wants to stand up but Orochimaru is controlling him.
Davies seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Orochimaru postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Davies is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Davies drags the fight down to the ground.
Orochimaru is in close to Davies's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Davies is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Orochimaru looking to sit in guard and control but Davies gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Davies drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Davies jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davies slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Orochimaru.
Davies passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Orochimaru!

Davies jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Orochimaru manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Davies prevents Orochimaru from escaping the position.

Davies's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Orochimaru tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Davies presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Davies dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Davies shoots in for a takedown but Orochimaru shows good takedown defense.
Davies stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Davies wants it to stay on the feet.
Orochimaru tries to clinch there but Davies circles away.
Davies has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Orochimaru tries to close the distance and clinch but Davies swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Orochimaru was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Tekashi Orochimaru has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Davies.

and Orochimaru holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Davies shoots in looking for a takedown but Orochimaru manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Davies's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Orochimaru went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Davies closes the distance and pushes Orochimaru back into the cage.

Davies closes the distance and clinches up with Orochimaru, looking for a takedown. Davies pushes Orochimaru against the cage but Orochimaru circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Orochimaru preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Davies clinches up with Orochimaru and pushes him back against the cage.

Davies pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Orochimaru dives in and grabs Davies's left leg, looking for a takedown. Davies pushes down on Orochimaru's head and hops out.

Davies moves into the clinch.
Davies lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Orochimaru.
Davies goes for a takedown in the clinch but Orochimaru prevents it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Orochimaru jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Davies walks away with a smile on his face. Orochimaru gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Davies slaps away a takedown attempt from Orochimaru, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tekashi Orochimaru. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Davies.
Orochimaru lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Orochimaru shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Davies sprawls well. Davies wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Orochimaru gets slowly back to his feet.
No luck for Davies with that takedown attempt.
Orochimaru leaves Davies with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Davies is trying to drag Orochimaru to the mat but Orochimaru just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Davies manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Orochimaru's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Davies counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Davies is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Davies thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Orochimaru if he has to take too many more of those.
Davies shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Orochimaru stuffs the takedown.
Orochimaru throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Davies shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Orochimaru but Orochimaru pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tekashi Orochimaru is winning the standup battle so far.
Davies fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Orochimaru drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Davies throws Orochimaru to one side and escapes!

And that's the end of the fight!
Michael Davies comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Davies winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
