These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dmonray Malapitan!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stalin tries to clinch there but Malapitan circles away.
Malapitan is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Malapitan gets tackled into the cage by Stalin. Stalin maintains the clinch.
Malapitan misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Malapitan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Stalin has Malapitan pressed against the cage, preventing Malapitan from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Stalin drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Malapitan tries to break free but Stalin pushes him back against the cage.

Stalin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stalin shoots for a takedown but Malapitan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Stalin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Malapitan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stalin doesn't manage to clinch there - Malapitan circles away.
Vladimir Stalin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stalin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Malapitan swivels and escapes.
Stalin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Malapitan as he avoids it easily.

Malapitan gets tackled into the cage by Stalin. Stalin maintains the clinch.
Stalin is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Malapitan is defending well.
Stalin tries to score a body lock takedown but Malapitan shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Stalin is breathing heavily.
Stalin tries to pull guard but Malapitan forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Stalin is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Stalin is looking to take this one to the mat.
Malapitan is trying to push Stalin away but Stalin has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Stalin tries for a takedown but Malapitan manages to get underhooks.

Stalin wants a takedown.
Stalin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Malapitan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Stalin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Malapitan walks away with a smile on his face. Stalin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Malapitan scores with a body shot.
Stalin slips a jab and a cross from Malapitan.
Stalin shoots in for a takedown but Malapitan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Malapitan is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Danga de danga de dang - Malapitan scores with a four punch combination!


It looks like Vladimir Stalin has been cut.

Malapitan drops Stalin with a beautiful combination! Stalin stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Malapitan is looking for the KO!


Stalin is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Malapitan throws an uppercut from hell that sends Stalin clean off his feet! He's out cold! Malapitan stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
