The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez shoots in and drives through. Perda sprawls well.

Perda takes the fight into the clinch.
Gonzalez tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Gonzalez fails to pull guard.
Perda tries a knee to the head but Gonzalez blocks it.
Perda prevents Gonzalez from breaking the clinch.

Perda gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Perda controls from within his opponent's guard.
Gonzalez trying to keep a closed guard but Perda is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Perda seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gonzalez for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Gonzalez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Gonzalez is looking to clinch.
Perda avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Perda attempts a counter takedown but Gonzalez avoids it well and moves away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Perda rushes Gonzalez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Perda pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Perda will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gonzalez drops back, looking for a kneebar! Perda looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Perda looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Perda!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Perda wants to stand but Gonzalez is controlling his arm.

Perda wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gonzalez, who protects the arm well.
Perda connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Gonzalez some visible discomfort.

Perda has an Americana. Gonzalez didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Perda is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Perda hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
