The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kemp lands with an overhand left.
Kemp ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kemp! But no joy.
Obermueller tries to clinch but Kemp is having none of it.
Obermueller throws a hook but Kemp avoids it easily.
Kemp swats away the attempt to clinch by Obermueller.
Kemp throws a looping overhand right but Obermueller ducks down to avoid it.
Obermueller tries to clinch but Kemp moves out of range.
Obermueller tries to clinch up but Kemp circles away and keeps his distance.
Kemp swats away the attempt to clinch by Obermueller.
We've been informed that Kemp has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Kemp connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Obermueller's hands.
Kemp fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

It looks like Bernd Obermueller has been cut.
Obermueller is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Obermueller tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Kemp paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kemp lands with a short punch from the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kemp blocks the elbow strike.

Kemp jabs Obermueller right on the nose. Obermueller blinks but takes it well.

BAM! Kemp delivers a spinning backfist that drops Obermueller like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Ross Kemp!

Ross Kemp was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
