Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 24 - 19 - 1, fighting out of New York, Brian Pereira!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira looks to land a body kick but Owen moved away.
Owen lands with a right hand.
Pereira fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Owen dives in and grabs Pereira's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pereira pushes down on Owen's head and hops out.

Pereira clinches up with Owen and pushes him back against the cage.
Pereira scores with a nice hook to the head.
Owen wants a takedown but no success here.
Pereira swings wildly with an uppercut but Owen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Pereira lands a hook to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Owen goes for a takedown attempt but Pereira pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harry Owen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pereira takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Owen lands a nice shot that snaps Pereira's head back.
Owen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Owen leaves Pereira with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Owen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Pereira tries to score with a low kick but Owen moves his leg out of the way.
Owen misses with a two punch combination.
Pereira misses with a head kick.
Owen drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Pereira on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Owen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pereira! But no joy.
Owen misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Pereira cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Owen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pereira is trying to defend but Owen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Owen seems to be looking for submissions.

Owen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pereira slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Owen passes Pereira's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Owen is working for a kimura but Pereira is defending it quite comfortably.

Pereira is trying to control but can't.
Pereira is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pereira works his way to full guard. Good work.
Owen preventing the sweep.
Pereira trying to keep a closed guard but Owen is proving a slippery customer.
Owen trying to control the position from guard on top but Pereira is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Owen has gone for a leg lock! Pereira slips out almost immediately though and dives into Owen's guard.

My spies in The Takeover inform me that Pereira has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Pereira is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Pereira trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Owen isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Pereira stacks Owen on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Pereira!
Owen takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Owen is not content to let Pereira control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Brian Pereira will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Owen tries to bum rush Pereira with a series of wild strikes but Pereira uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Pereira lands a head kick that stumbles Owen and the fighters go to the mat.

Owen is rocked!
Pereira arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Owen's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Brian Pereira!
After winning the bout, Brian Pereira thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
