Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Dumas (ranked 6463 p4p, 602 weight class) and Carlos Anderson (ranked 5946 p4p, 590 weight class). Anderson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Everyday Bro-Team 10. Alexander Dumas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexander Dumas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Anderson!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dumas takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Alexander Dumas has been cut.
Anderson cracks Dumas with an open hand slap.
Anderson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dumas.
Anderson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Anderson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dumas.
Anderson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Carlos Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anderson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dumas.
Dumas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dumas wants it to stay on the feet.
Anderson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Anderson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dumas throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Anderson sees it coming and avoids it easily.

It looked like Dumas was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Anderson.
Dumas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dumas has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Dumas takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Anderson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Anderson connects with a looping right hand.
Anderson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dumas.
Dumas has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Dumas there as he acknowledges the shot.

Anderson drops Dumas with a right and a left! Anderson comes rushing in but Dumas regains his composure and manages to keep Anderson in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Anderson won't allow Dumas to sweep him here.

Anderson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dumas manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Anderson has Dumas in his guard.

Dumas slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Anderson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dumas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dumas is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Anderson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Dumas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Anderson can't keep his opponent in guard - Dumas advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Anderson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Dumas was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Dumas takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Dumas shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dumas showed some decent athleticism there.

Anderson has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Dumas. Oh but Anderson has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Dumas goes limp - he's gone! Anderson jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
