The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assad scores with a jab to the jaw.

Brekker throws out a loose jab but Assad uses good head movement to avoid it.

Assad drops down looking for a counter takedown but Brekker sprawls and moves away.
Assad throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've been hearing reports that Assad has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
