Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Okami Kumo (ranked 2314 p4p, 274 weight class) and Anakond Lidland (ranked 2600 p4p, 301 weight class). Kumo comes to the cage accompanied by Max Coveri - Running in the 90's. Anakond Lidland struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Anakond Lidland has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Okami Kumo's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Okami Kumo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anakond Lidland!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kumo closes the distance and clinches up with Lidland, looking for a takedown. Kumo pushes Lidland against the cage but Lidland circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kumo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lidland to score with a decent uppercut.
Lidland ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kumo goes for a double leg but Lidland avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lidland continues to drive forward.
Lidland unleashes a big counter combination but Kumo bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Lidland connects with a leg kick. Kumo looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Kumo looks for a takedown but Lidland sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Okami Kumo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice body kick from Lidland.
Lidland throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kumo.
A little feinted left hand from Kumo on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Lidland throws a head kick but Kumo moves out of range.
No joy there for Lidland, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lidland throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Kumo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Lidland tries to sprawl but Kumo drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lidland throws a body kick that misses.
Lidland throws a push kick but Kumo slaps the foot to one side.
Kumo was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Lidland gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kumo to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Kumo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lidland is looking to stand up but Kumo isn't so interested in that idea.

Kumo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kumo stays in close to Lidland's body and controls the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kumo fails with the takedown.
A swing and a miss from Lidland.
Lidland ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kumo moves away.
Lidland pulls out of a head kick attempt.
No luck for Kumo with that takedown attempt.

Kumo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lidland throws out the jab.
Lidland throws a sloppy head kick and Kumo moves out of range easily.
Lidland's coach down at Rabid Reindeer Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lidland's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Kumo looks for a takedown but Lidland sprawls well.
Lidland misses with a jab, cross combination.

Kumo rushes Lidland and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kumo keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lidland's efforts to push away.

Kumo jumps into guard, dragging Lidland to the mat.
Kumo managing to control the position.
Lidland must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kumo trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Kumo has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Lidland should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kumo has tightened it up now! Lidland should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Okami Kumo!
Okami Kumo really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Ma Balls Is Hot Clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
