The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maximus fails with a takedown attempt. Beetson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Beetson cracks a nice hook into Maximus's ribs. Maximus is trying hard to land a takedown here. Beetson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Beetson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Jab by Beetson. Maximus dives in and grabs Beetson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Beetson pushes down on Maximus's head and hops out. Athur Beetson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Geasus Maximus. Maximus shoots in and drives through. Beetson sprawls well. Maximus is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Maximus looks gassed! A cross from Beetson lands. Beetson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Beetson. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Maximus walks into a jab. Beetson lands a lovely overhand right.
Maximus is rocked! Beetson is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Maximus like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Maximus from another fist facial!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gillmeister swings for the body but Shields moves out of range.
Gillmeister misses with an uppercut. Gillmeister throws a shot from downtown. Shields moves away and avoids it. The fighters circle momentarily. Shields darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Gillmeister takes a swing at Shields's ribcage but misses. Gillmeister misses with a body shot.
Shields moves out of range of the strikes. Shields closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shields lands in his opponent's guard. Shields trying to control but Gillmeister is working from the bottom. Gillmeister keeping full guard, as Shields tries to pass. Gillmeister working a defensive guard here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gillmeister scores with a shot to the body.
Shields steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gillmeister. Shields walks into a jab. Gillmeister misses with a hook. Shields ducked under it nicely. Gillmeister throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Shields sees it coming and avoids it easily. No joy there for Gillmeister, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gillmeister throws out a loose jab but Shields uses good head movement to avoid it. Shields fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Shields slips under a jab. Gillmeister swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Trevor Gillmeister seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shields changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gillmeister looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Shields is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gillmeister knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shields working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shields trying to control the position but Gillmeister is working away. Gillmeister tries to bench press Shields off him but Shields keeps the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shields tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Gillmeister is not content to let Shields control the position. Shields tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shields has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Shields is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gillmeister is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Shields looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Gillmeister is avoiding damage well.
Shields is trying to get an arm triangle but Gillmeister is defending well. Shields misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Gillmeister is looking for a sweep. Shields trying to control the position but Gillmeister is working away. Gillmeister takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Shields wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gillmeister keeps working. Shields is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Gillmeister's shoulder. That is not cool. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gillmeister is looking for a sweep. Shields is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Shields looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Shields!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from Belkofer misses. Simmons slips under a jab from Belkofer. Belkofer uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Simmons. Belkofer tries to clinch but Simmons moves out of range. David Belkofer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Belkofer has closed the distance and engaged Simmons in a clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Belkofer connects with a nasty looking knee right to Simmons's face.
It looks like Zak Simmons has been cut. Belkofer presses Simmons against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Knees to the body from Belkofer.

Simmons connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Belkofer ducks under a wild hook from Simmons. Belkofer fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Simmons, pushing him back against the cage. Belkofer is trying to trip Simmons. He has hold of a leg but Simmons is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Belkofer persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Simmons wants to sweep here but Belkofer controlling him for the moment. Belkofer is stalling in the full guard. Belkofer postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Simmons can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Belkofer controls the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of David Belkofer. Simmons takes a shot to the body in his stride.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd cheers as Belkofer lands an impressive looking overhand right. Simmons doesn't seem phased though. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Belkofer, right into the meat.
Simmons has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Simmons there as he acknowledges the shot.

Belkofer scores with an uppercut up the middle. Belkofer unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Simmons! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Belkofer is unloading with more strikes now! Simmons drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lewis smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Lewis misses with a hook. Guy ducked under it nicely. Guy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lewis. Lewis throws a shot from downtown. Guy moves away and avoids it. Guy avoids the body shot from Lewis.
Guy tries to clinch but Lewis moves out of range. Lewis throws an overhand right that lands on Guy's shoulder, as Guy tries to avoid the shot. Lewis scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Guy looking for a takedown here - he's got it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lewis is pulling down on Guy's head. It's preventing any offense from Guy, at least for the moment. Guy stays in close to Lewis's body and controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Guy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lewis is keeping the position for now. Lewis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Lewis gets tackled into the cage by Guy. Guy maintains the clinch. Guy tries to pull guard but Lewis holds him up against the cage and eventually Guy drops back down to his feet.

It looks like Wrestler Guy has been cut. Lewis throws a hook to the side of Guy's head but Guy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Guy walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Lewis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Guy moves out of range as Lewis strikes. Guy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Lewis wants to get back to his feet but Guy is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Guy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Guy trying to control the position from guard on top but Lewis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Guy trying to stand up but can't free himself from Lewis's guard. Lewis wants to improve his position but instead Guy has moved into half guard.
Guy controlling the action here. Lewis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Guy on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lewis is looking for a sweep. Guy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Guy not landing any meaningful shots this time. Guy decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Wally Lewis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jab by Lewis. Lewis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Lewis throws a jab when Guy was well out of range. Lewis is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Lewis avoids a kick to the body.
Lewis is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. A combination from Lewis does no damage. Good exchange - Lewis coming out on top. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lewis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Guy showed some decent athleticism there. Guy is breathing heavily. Lewis is holding on to half guard well. Guy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Guy works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Guy with the ground and pound from mount. Guy is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lewis to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lewis shrugs it off. Guy content just to control the position here. Guy prevents Lewis from getting the reversal.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Guy tightening his grip on Lewis, looking for the choke. Guy throwing sloppy strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Guy gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Guy is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lewis is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Guy gets his way!

Lewis wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Lewis connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Guy steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lewis. A shot to the liver by Lewis. Beautiful body shot. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lewis cracks Guy with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Guy looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Lewis finish him?
Lewis is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Lewis throws a looping overhand right but Guy ducks down to avoid it. Lewis misses with an uppercut. Guy walks into a jab. Guy takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Lewis lands an overhand right.
Guy is rocked! Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Lewis moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Guy! Lewis continues to tee off on Guy, landing with a left and a right! Lewis connects with a right hand that leaves Guy sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Lewis!

Severn shoots in looking for a takedown but Kerr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Severn's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Kerr is breathing heavily. Kerr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kerr wants it to stay on the feet. Severn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mark Kerr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Severn. Severn is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Severn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kerr sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Severn somewhat. Severn tries to clinch but Kerr is having none of it. Let's hope that Punch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Fast Punch is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
