The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Palhares drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Palhares advances to half guard. Hare looking for submissions off his back. Hare wants to get back to full guard. Hare is not content to let Palhares control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hare gets full guard. Palhares postures up.
Palhares stopping the sweep attempt from Hare. Palhares stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hare swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hare throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Hare clinches up with Palhares and pushes him back against the cage. It's a sloppy attempt though and Palhares jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hare looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Latham drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Midgard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Latham has Midgard in his guard. Midgard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Latham swivels though and keeps the full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Midgard is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Midgard avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aronoff dodges the punch combination from Tama.
Tama lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Kekoa Tama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tama looks to land a left hand but Aronoff moved out of range nicely. Tama gets caught flat footed, as Aronoff shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aronoff thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Tama keeping moving, preventing Aronoff from controlling successfully. Aronoff is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Aronoff stops Tama from standing up. Tama will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Aronoff drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Aronoff jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Tama trying to keep a closed guard but Aronoff is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Tama!
Tama is breathing heavily. Aronoff shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tama as he avoids it easily. Aronoff lands a nice leg kick that just misses Tama's sensitive parts. Nice combo by Tama! Oh, that's hurt him - Aronoff falls to the canvas and Tama follows him into side control.
Aronoff is rocked! Tama stands up. Aronoff is still on wobbly legs! Can Tama finish him? Aronoff fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tama looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Tama misses with a head kick.
Aronoff seems to have recovered his senses. Aronoff shoots in and bounces Tama off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Aronoff stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tama swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tama is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Tama manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Tama can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Aronoff is looking to escape. Aronoff manages to regain half guard. Good work. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tama connects with a nice short shot to Aronoff's temple. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Tama throwing shots but Aronoff is blocking nicely. Aronoff blocking the ground and pound attempt from Tama. Aronoff makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Aronoff. Tama stopping the sweep attempt from Aronoff.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Aronoff is tying to control. Tama wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Tama flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Tama has one foot on Aronoff's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Aronoff walks into a stiff left hand from Tama. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gamble throws a lazy right hand but Lao sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Lao lands a with a good body shot. Gamble fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gamble needs to keep his hands up - Lao had a free shot at his head there. Lao works Gamble's body with a nice hook. Lao moves out of range of the strikes. Gamble throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A left lands for Lao. Gamble takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Chase Gamble seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A cross from Lao lands. Gamble throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Gamble throws a jab when Lao was well out of range. A jab from Gamble misses. Lao changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gamble looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Gamble manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Lao wants to control but Gamble is keeping busy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gamble stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Despite being in the dominant position, Cornelius Crumpet just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Horrible takedown by Mandela or perhaps it was just good defense by Crumpet which made him look bad. The fighters circling - Crumpet throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
