The bell rings for round one and we are underway! smith doesn't manage to clinch there - Bell circles away.
Bell clinches but smith breaks the clinch and smith counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. smith wants to control from the top but Bell keeps moving. smith sitting in guard here, content to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. smith thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Bell is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. smith wants to stand but Bell has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Bell looking to sweep here. No luck so far. smith pushes down on Bell's leg and manages to get into half guard. smith is working for a kimura but Bell is defending it quite comfortably.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. smith fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bell tries to clinch but fails miserably and smith counters with a single leg into guard. Bell didn't expect that. smith looking to pass the guard. Bell striking off his back but it's not causing smith any problems. Bell throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Bell had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. smith is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bell Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take smith's back instead.

He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. smith is trying to stand back up but Bell is controlling him

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcjagger throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Mcjagger tries to score with a low kick but Mohrruebe moves his leg out of the way. Some wild striking there from Mohrruebe.
Mcjagger clinches up with Mohrruebe and pushes him back against the cage. Mohrruebe turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mohrruebe manages to end up in side control. Mohrruebe cracks Mcjagger with a big right hand but Mcjagger just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Mcjagger tries to improve position but can't. Mohrruebe connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Mcjagger some visible discomfort.
Mohrruebe lands some shots froms side control. Mohrruebe lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mcjagger down.
Mcjagger misses with an elbow from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mohrruebe lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Mcjagger is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mohrruebe lands a huge shot from side control! Mcjagger is out cold! This one is all over!

Keen tries to sprawl out of it but Whitlow keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Keen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Whitlow. That's going to take a lot out of him. Whitlow tries to close the distance and clinch but Keen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Whitlow. Keen shrugs it off though.

Ryan Whitlow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Whitlow throws a series of punches but Keen avoids them all with ease. Whitlow misses with a combination

Kenny stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Apollo swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Glenn Kenny dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Apollo with a lazy takedown attempt and Kenny counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Apollo! Kenny is landing with some decent strikes but Apollo is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Kenny working Apollo over with strikes here. Kenny lands a nice shot to the head. Kenny wants to control but instead Apollo manages to regain half guard. Kenny is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Apollo manages to get to full guard. Apollo working a defensive guard here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kenny trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Apollo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Apollo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Apollo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Apollo misses with a takedown and Kenny counters with an inside leg kick. No joy there for Kenny, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kenny fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Kenny rushes Apollo and presses him up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kenny manages to break the clinch.

Kenny with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kenny shoots in and bounces Apollo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kenny slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kenny looking to sit in guard and control but Apollo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Apollo looking to pass the guard. Apollo drops back looking for a leg! Kenny is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kenny manages to kick Apollo off! Apollo jumps back into Kenny's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Apollo won't allow Kenny to sweep him here. Apollo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Apollo drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Apollo as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Kenny screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Apollo! Nice submission victory there!
