Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Extor Ace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Johnson struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Johnson! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good leg kick by Ace there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ace drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson tries to improve position but can't. Ace is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ace working the ground and pound. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ryba throws a head kick that Diccico semi-blocks.
It looks like Miguel Diccico has been cut. Diccico shoots for a double leg takedown but Ryba sprawls well. He's pushed Diccico's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Ryba tries a head kick but it misses.
Mike Ryba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ryba throws a sloppy head kick and Diccico moves out of range easily. Ryba lands with a slapping head kick. Diccico will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Diccico fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mike Ryba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miguel Diccico. Diccico changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ryba tries to avoid it but Diccico manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ryba to the ground. Ryba escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Diccico fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Ryba plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Ryba tries to clinch there but Diccico circles away.

Ryba clinches up with Diccico and pushes him back against the ropes. Ryba with a knee to the head.

Diccico is rocked! Ryba misses with a knee to the head. Diccico is still on wobbly legs! Can Ryba finish him? Diccico has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ryba uses from the top position. Diccico seems to have recovered his senses. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ryba preventing the sweep. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Diccico throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Ryba tries to avoid it but Diccico manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ryba to the ground. Ryba escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. No luck for Diccico with that takedown attempt. Ryba darts in trying to clinch and Diccico counters with a two punch combo. Diccico looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ryba is fending him off so far but Diccico persists. Nope, Ryba circles away and we're back to standing. Diccico tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Diccico fails with the takedown. Diccico has a takedown stuffed.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diccico shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ryba but Ryba pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ryba misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Ryba is rocked! Diccico decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Oh Ryba is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Diccico shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Ryba is on queer street and Diccico is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
