The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stamina misses with a series of wild punches.
Shears changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stamina looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Shears in side control, throwing shots but Stamina defends. Shears wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stamina keeps working. Shears lands some shots froms side control. Shears wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Stamina, who protects the arm well. Shears working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Shears lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stamina defending against the ground and pound. Shears tries to advance to mount but Stamina denies him. Shears sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Stamina is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Rod Stamina seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stamina throws a nice inside leg kick. Excellent takedown into side control there by Shears. Shears postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shears wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stamina keeps working. Stamina taking a bit of punishment here - Shears scoring with strikes. Shears has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The strikes coming from Shears are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Shears working the head and body with strikes. Shears thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Shears working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shears throws a strike aimed at the side of Stamina's head but Stamina avoids it well. Shears tries to advance to mount but Stamina denies him. Billy Shears overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Stamina wants to control but Shears postures up. Shears scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Stamina to see if he's OK. Shears landing a few strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stamina takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Stamina throws a front kick aimed at Shears's knee but Shears avoids it well. Stamina jabs Shears right on the nose. Shears blinks but takes it well. Shears avoids a punch combination nicely.
A combination from Shears does no damage. Shears feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Shears with a flurry of punches that miss. Shears wants to control from the top but Stamina keeps moving. Shears wants to pass the guard but Stamina is keeping the position.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Shears slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Shears thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Sloppy strikes there by Shears.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shears moves into full mount! Shears looking to control but Stamina is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Shears is really struggling to control Stamina but he's trying to hold on to the position. Shears misses with a head shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shears working Stamina over with strikes here. Shears breaks from Stamina's wrist control and lands an elbow. Stamina is bucking up trying to escape but Shears cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Stamina takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Shears thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stamina can do anything to dispel that myth. Shears working the ground and pound effectively.

And that's the end of the fight! Billy Shears showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shears, winning every round. Will the judges agree? The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Escobar fails with the takedown. Bong tries to land a front kick but Escobar steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Escobar fails with the takedown. Escobar with a nice cross. Bong lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Escobar walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Escobar shoots in and drives through. Bong sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julio Escobar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Escobar tries for a takedown but Bong sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bong fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Bong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Escobar shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Bong stuffs the takedown. Bong throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Bong scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Escobar is rocked! Escobar shoots for a takedown but Bong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Oh Escobar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Bong lands with a right and another and another! Escobar is in big trouble! Bong lands again and this time it's lights out for Escobar! A quality knockout there for Bong.

Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cheadle but Cheadle pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jones throws a half hearted mid kick. The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Florian fakes the leg kick and cracks Janjalani in the body. Florian swings away with a leg kick that misses. Florian connects with a solid leg kick. Janjalani fails to land the takedown. Florian scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Florian keeps the fight on the outside. Florian tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Florian throws a head kick that misses. Florian throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Florian content to stall in guard here. Florian's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Janjalani is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ganon landing strikes from the mount and Kahric is in trouble! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kahric is desperately trying to improve his position but Ganon has a good base and remains in mount.

Kahric is bucking up trying to escape but Ganon cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Kahric is in a horrible position here. Ganon smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Irons forces the positional change into back control. Irons patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
