The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wankerl avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Landry throws a head kick but Wankerl moves out of range.
Landry tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Landry closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Landry. Wankerl misses with the head strike.
Wankerl turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Wankerl decides to stand up, so the ref orders Landry to his feet. No joy there for Landry, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wankerl tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Landry decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Landry throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Wankerl wants to improve his position but Landry is controlling well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Landry changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown.
