That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Carter.
Well Sorenson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Magas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Magas had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

WiIliams darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
WiIliams thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Aria pushes WiIliams off and gets back to his feet.
WiIliams takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Aria lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
WiIliams misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
WiIliams goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
WiIliams walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
No joy there for Aria, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
WiIliams scores with a jab to the jaw.
WiIliams misses with a looping right.
Aria is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Aria moves out of range as WiIliams strikes.
Aria closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Aria knocks WiIliams to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?

WiIliams is rocked!

It looks like Shane WiIliams has been cut.
You can see the frustration on WiIliams's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
WiIliams is trying to get back to half guard.

Aria gets to mount! WiIliams was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Aria stands up from WiIliams's guard - Aria perhaps looking for a knockout.
A jab from Aria finds it's way through WiIliams's defenses.
WiIliams throws a lazy right hand but Aria sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Aria jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Aria fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with WiIliams, pushing him back against the cage.
WiIliams misses with a short punch on the inside.
WiIliams pushes off an throws an elbow but Aria leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
WiIliams is looking to break free of the clinch but Aria has double underhooks.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Aria breaks the clinch.
Aria plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Aria scores with a push kick.
Aria connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A head kick by Aria - that's a beauty! WiIliams is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Aria can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
