2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nicklas Mattsson! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mattsson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jane tries to improve position but can't. Mattsson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Mattsson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jane has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mattsson but great work by Jane. Mattsson tries to bench press Jane off him but Jane keeps the position. Mattsson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Mattsson wants to get back to full guard. Jane is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Jane trying to control from half guard but Mattsson is working away. Jane slips a nice elbow through Mattsson's hands, connecting with Mattsson's forehead. Mattsson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jane is nestled in close to Mattsson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. It looks like Frank Trigg has been cut. hunter tries to stand but Trigg is controlling his head. Trigg is still in real trouble! Can hunter finish him? Trigg tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but hunter wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Trigg seems to have recovered his senses. Trigg wants to control but hunter postures up. Trigg is trying to improve his position. hunter decides to stand back up. hunter steps back and let's Trigg get back to his feet.

Omar ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rutten closes the distance but Omar moves to the side and Omar counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Omar tries to pass to full mount but Rutten defends it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Omar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bas Rutten will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Rutten closes the distance looking to clinch and Omar counters with a nice low kick that buckles Rutten's knee momentarily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Omar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Omar in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Omar moves into full mount! Omar working for a guillotine from mount but Rutten is in no mood to give up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Omar is going olschool here, as he tries to force Rutten to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rutten shrugs it off. Poor strikes thrown by Omar there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Rutten tries to lock up and control but Omar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Rutten is trying to stand up. He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Fulton, into his guard. Creed would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Creed got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fulton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Creed has managed to get both his arms back between Fulton's legs - danger averted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fulton is looking for a triangle here but Creed uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Fulton wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

And that's the end of the fight! Apollo Creed comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Creed has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cole lands a with a good body shot. Hundsson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cole.
