The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Alves bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Alves is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ziskie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ziskie tries to escape but Alves is in control.
Alves moves into full mount!

Alves is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ziskie has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Alves takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Smif takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kalyagin cracks Smif with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Smif falls to his knees and Kalyagin doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
