The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodriguez throws a head kick that misses. Ortiz blocks a jab. Rodriguez throws a right and a left that Ortiz avoids nicely. Ortiz takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Fairview shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gamburyan as he avoids it easily. Gamburyan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Gamburyan scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Gamburyan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Fairview knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gamburyan is keen to just control but Fairview is a slippery customer. Fairview knows he needs to get back to his feet asap.
