Tap Him Out kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is It's Time For War by LL Cool J. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Tap Him Out bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Davis pushes Tap Him Out away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Tap Him Out gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Davis avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Tap Him Out. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Davis takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Tap Him Out working the ground and pound. Tap Him Out working away. Sloppy strikes there by Tap Him Out. The ground and pound from Tap Him Out seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Tap Him Out wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davis keeps working. Davis is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Davis manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Tap Him Out tries for a takedown but Davis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A big right from Davis misses. Tap Him Out shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Davis defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Papa Said Tap Him Out. That's going to take a lot out of him. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tap Him Out takes a body punch but keeps moving. Davis misses with an uppercut.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Davis wants to stand and escape but Tap Him Out is having none of it. Tap Him Out fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Papa Said Tap Him Out. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tap Him Out walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Davis paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Davis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Papa Said Tap Him Out overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tap Him Out is working the ground and pound from guard. Davis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tap Him Out. Tap Him Out will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Davis uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Tap Him Out has time to react. Tap Him Out fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Davis avoids it really well and circles away. Davis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tap Him Out circles away quickly and effectively.

Davis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Tap Him Out won't allow Davis to get back to his feet. Davis has Tap Him Out pulled in close to control his posture. Tap Him Out stops Davis from standing up. Tap Him Out with a flurry of punches that miss. Davis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tap Him Out's guard.
Tap Him Out had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Davis defends it easily. Davis wants to stand but Tap Him Out has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Tap Him Out trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Phil Davis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Davis scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Tap Him Out doesn't seem bothered though. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tap Him Out looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Davis misses with a few strikes there.

Davis misses with a hook. Tap Him Out ducked under it nicely. Tap Him Out has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

McSwain ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Thompson moves away. Thompson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from McSwain. Thompson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McSwain forces Thompson back against the cage and clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Thompson. Thompson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
McSwain is working for takedown but Thompson is calmly controlling the position for now. Thompson drops down looking for an ankle pick but McSwain pulls his leg out and moves away.

Taylor Made seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Made shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carter but Carter pushes him off and we're back to square one. Carter slips under a jab. Carter misses with a straight left. Carter leaves Made with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Made misses the shot to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carter steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Made. Made swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Made showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Carter.

Made is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Carter will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Made wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carter keeps working. Made lands a decent elbow from side control.

and Made decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Carter's guard. Made seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Carter is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Made is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Made pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carter is keeping the position for now. Made wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Taylor Made dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Carter takes a body punch but keeps moving. Carter ducks under a wild hook from Made. Made slips under a jab from Carter. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Carter feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Made's calf. An inside leg kick lands from Carter. Made shoots in and drives through. Carter sprawls well. Carter misses with a low kick.
Carter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Made. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Made. Shawn Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taylor Made. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Carter.
Made steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Carter. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Made, as that shot connected.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Made. The fighters circle momentarily. Made darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

and Made connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Nice jab there from Made. Made shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carter pinned against the cage. Carter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Made throws out a loose jab but Carter uses good head movement to avoid it. Made throws a body punch but Carter moves out of range.

Carter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Made. Made throws a hook to the side of Carter's head but Carter sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Made fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carter sprawls well initially but Made persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Well, if Made is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Made seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Carter is trying to control but can't.

A punch combination from Carter misses. Carter turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Made looks to land a right hand but Carter moved out of range. Carter throws a lazy right hand but Made sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Made displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carter throws out the jab. Made shoots in looking for a takedown. Carter tries to sprawl out of it but Made keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Carter punishes Made's body with a nice straight punch. Made is breathing heavily. Carter swings and misses with a shot to the body and Made counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Shawn Carter will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Made changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carter tries to avoid it but Made manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carter to the ground. Carter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Made will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Made is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carter sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Shawn Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taylor Made. Carter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Carter thuds his right hand into Made's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Carter slaps away a takedown attempt from Made, before circling back to the center of the mat. Carter misses the jab. Made drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. A swing and a miss from Made. Carter misses with a head kick.
Made fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Made takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Made lands a slapping body shot.

Carter throws a series of strikes that have Made backpedaling.
Nice straight punches there by Carter. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Carter. Carter misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Made doesn't seem phased though. Made jabbing away but nothing is landing. Carter defending well as Made loads up on a big left hand. Carter connects with a right hand. Made shakes it off. Made uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carter.
Carter feints and then cracks Made's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Made down.
Made feints and as Carter raises his hands in defense, Made changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Made stopping the sweep attempt from Carter. Made passes Carter's left leg - he's now in half guard.
