The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A decent looking cross lands there for Anderson. Anderson closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Santos! Anderson dives in looking to finish! Santos is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sam Anderson!

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carlos Costa! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shadows sizes up Costa with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Costa walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Shadows checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Costa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shadows pinned against the cage. Shadows gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Shadows really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Costa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shadows looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Shadows is looking for a sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Costa creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Shadows sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Shadows trying to remain calm as Costa controls from the top position. Costa creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. The ground and pound from Costa seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Shadows sneaks back into half guard. Shadows actively working from the bottom here. Costa slows the pace down in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shadows looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Shadows won't allow Costa to pass to mount. Costa is working for a submission of some sort.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Costa lands strikes from half guard. Costa is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Shadows tries to get to full guard but Costa has control of the leg. Shadows makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Shadows. Shadows is looking for a triangle but Costa pushes his legs off easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shadows escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Costa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Costa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shadows manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Costa has Shadows in his guard. Costa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Shadows advances position into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Shadows stands up. Max Shadows is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Shadows fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Costa moves into the clinch. Costa gets control of Shadows's arms and successfully pulls guard. Costa will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Costa has his foot on Shadows's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shadows works his way back into a safe position though. Shadows trying to control the position from guard on top but Costa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Costa working a defensive guard but Shadows manages to pass into side control anyway.
Costa is positioning himself to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Costa dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

No joy there for Shadows, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shadows stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shadows wants it to stay on the feet. Shadows throws a series of punches but Costa avoids them all with ease. Max Shadows seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shadows throws a right and a left that both miss. Costa thows a body shot but no joy. Shadows lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Costa circles away quickly and effectively. Costa has closed the distance and engaged Shadows in a clinch.

Costa wants to sweep but no luck. Shadows will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Costa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shadows doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shadows manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Costa not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shadows can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Shadows trying to control but Costa is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Shadows wants to stand but Costa is controlling his posture from full guard. Shadows trying to control the position from guard on top but Costa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Costa looking to control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Costa looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Shadows! Shadows in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Costa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!

Shadows throws a nice looking combination but Costa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Costa dives in and grabs Shadows's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shadows pushes down on Costa's head and hops out. Shadows misses with a few strikes there.

Shadows gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Costa to score an easy takedown into full guard. Shadows looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Costa is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shadows tries to land a sweep but no joy. Costa controlling from the top position. Costa working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Costa wants to control from the top but Shadows keeps moving. Shadows working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Costa has passed into half guard!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Costa throwing shots but Shadows is blocking nicely. Shadows looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Costa with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Costa wants to pass to mount but Shadows is defending the position. Costa working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Shadows's thigh. Shadows counters though and makes it back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shadows isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Costa stacks Shadows on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Costa! Costa wants to control but Shadows is keeping him busy. Max Shadows has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Carlos Costa has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Costa has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Shadows! Costa wants to control the pace but Shadows is squirming around nicely. Shadows is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Carlos Costa is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Shadows throwing punches from his back. He's mounted here but still fighting back. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Costa throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Shadows has his hands clasped together but Costa breaks the hold and Shadows is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Costa!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! St Pierre throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Burns. St Pierre is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Burns avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Burns swats away the attempt to clinch by St Pierre. St Pierre will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Burns has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. St Pierre avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. St Pierre breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Burns avoids the head kick by St Pierre.

Burns shoots in for a double leg but St Pierre sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Matt St Pierre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kruci Burns. Burns defends well against a solid takedown attempt from St Pierre. St Pierre scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Burns is not content to let St Pierre control the position. St Pierre not landing any meaningful shots this time. St Pierre thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Burns is trying to control but can't.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anathema tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Anathema throws a low kick but Severus avoids it. Anathema scores with a jab. Severus acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Severus walks forward, straight into a front kick from Anathema. Anathema misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A low kick from Severus misses and Anathema counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Anathema is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Severus has managed to free his arm - good work. Severus wants to get back to his feet.
Severus is trying to maintain the position but Anathema is very close to passing his half guard. Severus gets full guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Anathema is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Anathema lands a couple of decent looking shots. Anathema thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Anathema with a flurry of punches that miss.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Severus lands a left and a right that send Anathema crashing to the mat, dazed. Severus thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Damon Anathema has been cut. Severus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Anathema swats him away and circles back towards the center. Anathema throws a head kick that Severus semi-blocks.
Anathema fails to land with a series of punches.
Severus wants to clinch. Severus blocks a jab. Anathema takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Anathema pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Severus jabs at Anathema's body. Anathema looks gassed! Nice straight punches there by Severus. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Severus. Severus punishes Anathema's body with a nice straight punch. A nice inside leg kick there by Severus. That's going to slow Anathema down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anathema takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Anathema is rocked! Severus closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Anathema out cold! Anathema corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sizemore looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Day swats away the attempt to clinch by Sizemore. Sizemore tries to close the distance and clinch up but Day swats him away and circles back towards the center. Day has a takedown stuffed. Sizemore closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Sizemore breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ronny Sizemore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sizemore clinches. Sizemore keeps control of Day as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Sizemore breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sizemore fails with an attempt to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Day. A combination from Sizemore does no damage. Sizemore lands with a kick to the temple. Day shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Day keeps the fight on the outside.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sizemore throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Sizemore swings and misses with a shot to the body and Day counters with a shoot takedown. Sizemore fights it but they end up in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Day chips away with some ground and pound. Day throwing strikes but missing. Day is working Sizemore over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Sizemore looking for a sweep. Not yet Sizemore, not yet. Day with a nice head shot there. Day postures up in Sizemore's guard and throws a big left but Sizemore blocks it. Day prevents Sizemore from getting back to his feet. Sizemore looks gassed! Sizemore working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Day. Sizemore pushes Day off and scrambles back to his feet.
Sizemore closes the distance but Day moves to the side and Day counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Ronny Sizemore has been cut. Day feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Day trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Day is looking to work some ground and pound but Sizemore has wrist control. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Day's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Day won't allow Sizemore to get back to his feet. Day with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Day drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Day jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sizemore can do anything to dispel that myth. Day in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Day throws a big right hand that misses. Day preventing the sweep. Sizemore is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Day throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sizemore tries to clinch but Day moves away and Day cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Sizemore tries to clinch up enabling Day to counter with a crisp jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Day keeps the fight on the outside. Nice defenses there by Sizemore. Day circles away from the clinch attempt.
Day dives in and grabs Sizemore's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sizemore pushes down on Day's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jackie Day. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sizemore wants to clinch and Day counters by clinching up. I think English might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rocket Skates by Deftones. Petkele has chosen M.A. Numminen - Perkele as his entrance music. The key to victory for Johnny English has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! English looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. English keeps the fight on the outside. Petkele tries to close the distance and clinch but English swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Excellent takedown into side control there by Petkele. English is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Petkele off and has taken his back! Petkele tries to escape the position.
Petkele looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Petkele breaks English's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Pulla throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A nice inside leg kick there by Veb. That's going to slow Pulla down. Pulla thows a left - swing and a miss! Pulla takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Veb, right into the meat.
Veb turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Pulla is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Veb's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Nice jab there from Veb. Veb scores with a leg kick.
Veb lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pulla leaves Veb with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Pulla on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Pulla is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Veb drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pulla pulls his leg out and moves away.
Veb doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Pulla throws a hook but Veb blocks it. The fighters circling - Pulla throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Veb shoots in looking for a takedown. Pulla tries to sprawl out of it but Veb keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pulla manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Pulla swings and misses with a hook to the body.

It looks like BJ Veb has been cut. Pulla is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Pulla looks for the body kick but Veb saw that one coming. Pulla waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Veb. Pulla shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Veb scoring well with a low kick there.

Pulla bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Veb dives in and grabs Pulla's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pulla pushes down on Veb's head and hops out. Veb attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Pulla checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Pulla lands with a cross. Veb dodges the punch combination from Pulla.

and Veb counters with a flying knee. Nice. Veb closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Veb lands in his opponent's guard. Veb throws a strike but Pulla rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Veb tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Veb is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Pulla got a little sloppy there for a moment and Veb has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pulla has managed to get both his arms back between Veb's legs - danger averted. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pulla sitting in guard here, content to control.
And that's the end of the fight! BJ Veb comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Veb has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
