The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Britva moves to clinch but Emmons breaks away
and Emmons counters with a leg kick.
Nice body kick from Britva.
Britva fails to land with a series of punches.
Emmons misses with an uppercut.
Britva throws a left and a right that both miss
and Emmons counters with a nice leg kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Emmons crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Britva - the referee stops the clock and Emmons gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Britva. Emmons manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

and Emmons makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Emmons sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Britva to the ground! Emmons dives into full mount looking to finish!

It looks like Boris Britva has been cut.
Emmons lands with some strikes.
Oh Britva is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Emmons is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Britva to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Britva shrugs it off.
Britva seems to have got his legs back now.

Emmons has hold of Britva's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Britva manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Fujichrome enables Pitney to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fujichrome manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Pitney is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Pitney drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pitney jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Pitney must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Steak is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Peligrini had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Steak cracks a nice hook into Peligrini's ribs.
Peligrini takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Steak cracks Peligrini with a right hand to the side of the head.
Peligrini has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Steak.
Steak looks for a takedown but Peligrini sprawls well.

Steak gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Steak manages to break the clinch.
Steak lands with a hook. Peligrini tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Peligrini misses with a wild combination.
Steak connects with a crisp jab.

Peligrini is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Steak moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
